I was suprised to be told at my last smear a couple of months ago that they are testing for it now, not sure if that's every trust though, my smear came back clear so all is good

Yes they test when having a smear but not a lot off people no or ask for the results. It's classed a sti as passed on orally vaginal anal and skin to skin contact .

although one time my smear showed i had an 'infection' so needed to go for a colposcopy on my cervix. they couldn't figure out what it was so recommended me to have my coil removed as they thought it must be that.

omg i dunno what they do to us...

If it's classed as a sti why can they not test you at gum clinic for it. And most people never no they have virsus due to not up taking there smear tests and passing it around. Yes there is no treatment for it and body can get rid off virsus after a while a year or more. But wouldn't you all like to no if you carry hpv so your not putting others at risk

They tested me when I had a smear test but that might be because I had small changes and had further tests done. Glad to say I'm HPV free.

Only teenage girls get the vaccine. I think it should be given to boys too.

There are at least 100 variations of the virus and we can have it, and get over it, without knowing about it. If you get the warts then you know you have it.
