Oh btw op magnum do some specialist fire resitant boots aimed at fireservice/emergancy workers.
I have thier stealth 8 patrol boots and they are the most comfy things on earth.
So they might be worth a look |

I see what your saying but I think posing in your uniform , as a fire fighter you can't take it home,is more of an issue than a face pic. |

My comment was to make a point that it really won't be taken lightly by any fire brigade that any member belonging to them are on here( not my rules) but rules, all the same, so imo it's silly to come on here with face pics and announce it, but hey ho, if the op is confident that it won't be a problem then good luck to him  I'm sure you'll find that the retained station you are thinking of applying too, won't take to kindly to it either Mrs blue eyes  |

nope, on that the Fire service is pretty strict and for good reasons..
the kit is tested to National agreed standards and if your not wearing them and you have an accident you are properly fucked possibly to the extent that any potential claim will be reduced or thrown out..
and your Oic will be disciplined also..

Clearly i didn't suggest it was but its not uncommon for some either in the job or being a Walt to have such imaged on their's.
No they don't but they routinely scrutinise social media in the application process as a lot of other professions do..
what they do if someone informs them is take action if as i said above their image is involved etc, it keep their discipline section in a job.. |

Agreed! Congratulations! And thank you, the emergency services hold us all together.
As the others have said, it only takes one knobhead to report you and your career is scuppered before it has started so face pics and uniform pics are probably a poor idea.

Was a retained firefighter for 8 years when i lived in Scotland. Very rewarding job. Hard at times but always remember, the people you help will far outweigh the ones you cant. |
