Chris Brown beat up Rihanna a couple of years ago. It seems most people have forgotten this.

I wouldn't buy his music anyway, not my style, but yes. it seems people have short memories.

If I were to not buy/use things because of what the owner did:

I'd never shop in Primark because of the links to slave labour;

I'd never buy a Nestle product as they've flogged baby milk products to third world countries knowing they'd use dirty water to make up the feeds.

I'd never use any Tate & Lyle product as they destroyed the forests in Haiti with their sugar cash crops;

I'd never vote as our MPs are lying, theiving pricks;

I'd never shag another white man as they enslaved my ancestors etc...etc...etc...!

I wouldn't buy his music, but also wouldn't consider buying his music condoning the act...

We live in a world where people (actually) get away with murder, molestation, rape, assault with a deadly coalition government etc, and people get to keep their jobs (singers, musicians, hypnotists, teachers, doctors, actresses)

But then someone guilty of claiming 46p extra on his travel expenses will lose his/her job, possibly never get to work again, have tabloids hound him/her to death and suffer persecution everyday until doomsday.

No-one is condoning or prosecuting anyone or anything in the public eye anymore - except the tabloids and glossy mags.

I can't help but also wonder at the common sense in releasing a single called BDSM by Rhianna a couple of years after either...

Curt

you forgot buying petrol as we pay tax upon the fookin tax!!!!!! and you'd never drive anyway as it hurts our environment....and we'd never buy a house as at some point that area was full of life (plants and minibeast)....and they were destroyed for humans.....the list is endless. more to the op point....his music is shite!

Presumably, you wouldn't shag another black man of African origin either as they "exported" many of their fellow men to the slave trade?

Whilst not wishing to condone violence against women..or against anyone for that matter I kinda like the idea that the rock stars i like push the boundaries,break the law,throw tellies out of windows and run the risk of dying in a pool of their own vomit..time was when it seemed to be part of the job description

whilst everyones points are valid, i think if i were to ever purchase his music it would be because its because i liked it. certainly doesnt mean i think domestic violence is acceptable

And dont forget Michael Jackson and the allegations of child abuse, would we be condoning what he is supposed to have done?

The man and his music are two separate issues. I don't stop supporting Manchester United cos half their players are cheating assholes. He's had to deal with his actions and the consequences surrounding Rhianna and I suspect he'd had in the neck from those closest to him. It's not for me to judge the guy on that issue, but considering I'm not a fan of his music and I'd never buy any of his CDs anyway it's a bit of a moot point.

I believe if people do the crime, they should do the time..

and then, there it ends...

people should not be punished for the rest of their lives.

lol i raised that point and he came back with 'em not quite the same thing

1. Cheating on partner is not the same as beating them

2. He's one player of a team

3. I'm not putting any money in Giggs pocket which I would be if I bought an album of Chris Brown's'

maybe it's take a negative make a positive. By the way BDSM when indulged by respectful individuals is not abuse as it is consensual.
