Cats or dogs, and why.
Jump to: Newest in thread
Don't mind either but someone else will have to look after the dog duty while I just pet and love it however the cat have to behave and not try to bite me because they can be unpredictable little devils. |

"Dogs. Big Fuck Off Rhodesian Ridgebacks!!
I had a bad experience with a cat as a school kid... so... yeah, dogs..."
Me too.
The fecker wrapped itself round my legs and tripped me up. Not content with that, it slept on my face same night, almost smothered me.
Dogs all the way. |

I like both but I'd choose a dog over a cat any day. They are upbeat and interactive. They are loyal to a fault. And all the walking keeps me in reasonable shape. |

Cats, just because I've always loved cats.
Sadly the one we have at present is a bulimic psycopath that came with the house and has "isshhewwss", so we're kinda waiting for her to toddle off before getting a nice pair of rescue cats.

dogs, as i like how they're loyal and you can bath them, take them for walks, train them to play with you.
did have a cat once and she used to wake me 6am scratching my arms to bits and infested my home with fleas then ran off when on heat and i never saw her again.
keep looking at rottweilers, wish i could afford one. i am trying to save up. |

Dogs. My dog isnthe classic example of friendly and loyal and I wouldn't be without him. Cats I've found to be far too independent and less sociable compared to dogs. |

I have time for both...but cats would be the preferred choice. Because?...A dog will run for a ball, even when you don't throw it, a cat won't. ...simple, (pun intended) |

Lots of really interesting stuff here, we chose a cat because we both work shifts, but it looks like a dog would be a great companion if we had more time for him/ her. |

We have an American Akita our first dog after me having cats around me my whole life.
He's far more loving but more needy even if he is a bit aloof & stubborn.
Just an observation though, you NEVER have a cat, it has you and you are definatly the subservient one.

"We have a kitten. He's now 3 months old. Smart, loving, clean and independent. What's your preference and why? "
Dogs, loyal and affectionate.
Cats, just pointless. |

Cat's here. I've got 2, a ginger Tom and a Bengal.............they are both little shits and are forever stealing each others sleeping places. I can't imagine me ever not having cats, great fun and very easy to look after. |

We would love dogs but both have stupid shift patterns and it just wouldn't be possible.
So instead we are owned and controlled by a 14 year old rescue cat who we adore but ffs don't tell him that !!

Cats every time
I fully understand that cats rule the world. I therefore kneel before our feline overlords in hope of their pleasure and fear of their wrath.

Both we have an 11 month old rottie who is so sweet.
A rescue cat who is nearly 9 with some issue's which is why he was in a shelter for such a long time. But he is very affectionate and loving.
And we had a stray kitten come to our house a few weeks ago. No chip nobody has come forward for her and cats protection are allowing us to keep her. She is a real character I can't believe someone just abandoned her. |

Why is it always cats or dogs?
It's these kind of either or attitudes that feed the aggression between these two breeds.
My pit mix loves my cats and vice versa and I put that down to me never letting them on the net to read hate mongering like this |

"I like all creatures great and small "
How about things like the Parasitic Wasp, that lays its larvae inside other creatures where they feed inside the host until ready to emerge - Alien-like.

I think it was discovering things like this that led Darwin away from the notion of a Benevolent God and towards the theory of evolution.

Dogs. I have a 5yo black lab and 3 male 9 month old cats (all brothers)
Dogs - always excited to see you, will eat pretty much anything you give them, good judges of character, will give attention when you are sad.
Cats - steal your seat when you stand up, lie right where you want to walk then give you a look that could kill if you shove them out the way, line up to take a shit as soon as you clean out the litter tray, think they own the fuckin place. |

I like all animals but I dont have any as I know Im too lazy to give them the attention/excercise they need and I'm house proud and couldnt cope with any mess or smells or damage they may create. |

I have a dog (GSD X) but I also like cats too and would probably have both if I didn't live next to a main road.
I don't really get the "dogs are stupid" comments that people come up with. I`ve seen dogs that are smarter than some of the people I have encountered. I`ve also seen some pretty stupid cats. |

I've had both and love both.
Currently have little black cat who's 3, and he's the sweetest little thing you've ever seen. He likes belly rubs and all those other things cats are supposed to hate. |

Cats FTW.
Because the phrase is "cool for cats," not dogs. What phrase do dogs get? "Let loose the dogs of war." They're so macho like blokes. And they slobber all over you, like blokes. And they smell, like blokes. |
