Andrew Marr has made a fascinating programme about his stroke and his recovery.
It's interesting seeing how others have recovered from stroke or are living with the results. One woman can sing but can't form a sentence.

Yes I watched That programme all the way through and all I have is great admiration for the man. I have seen him on telly since his stroke anddidn't even realise he had,had one. |

It was a reasonably good show. I was with an elderly relative at a funeral yesterday who's had a stroke and now has repeated transient global amnesia. These bouts leave her with temporary complete loss of memory. But it does return for her. |

I hope she is able to rebuild some of the pathways.

"The brain is a weird thing, a friend of mine his dad had a stroke and was left with a 3 saying vocabulary yes no and fuck off couldn't say another word"
I had a friend whose stroke left them transposing yes and no, including nodding and shaking their head. It was fine if yo you knew and remembered but he would get so frustrated and really angry with people who didn't understand. It was very hard for his family too.

He's very determined, but that is partly what led to his stroke.

It's a very temporary loss, that progressively returns each time. She's had reasonable recovery since her stroke but had her confidence knocked by these transient amnesia attacks. |

Yes, the silly bugger, like men of a certain age, decided he didn't like his body going south and took up exercise.
Vigourous exercise on the rowing machine resulted in his stroke.
Keep telling people, keeping fit is dangerous. |

So much i'd like to say about this subject but too much to write.
Physical damage is easier to deal with than mental damage."
Say what you want to say, when you feel able.
Physical damage can, and does, lead to mental damage for many.

"Mrs had a major stroke, life is not pleasant. Know we need help and are getting some but sometimes it seems like its not the right kind of help..we're working on it but christ its hard work."
I'm sorry to read that. I hope the help you need and the hard work gets easier as things improve.
