I'am naturally a very shy person by nature, and I thought I would never get a meet. Lo and behold I managed so I thought to get a naughty meet. Everything was sorted and I had a day off so took it to meet. The arranged time was 1.00 after she had finished work, Had a text saying it would be 2.00 , fair enough I thought
2.00 arrived , another text "I will be 5 mins , hope your hard" 10 mins later another text , sorry but I was never gonna show. My confidence is now shot to pieces and have given up hope of ever getting any fun. I'am letting my gold membership run down and coming off. I won't reveal their name because I'm too respectful , or daft. Feel compeletely let down

Four weeks in and you've got a verification already. You're not doing bad. I assume you didn't talk to this woman (if it was even a woman) for long before arranging to meet. Learn from it, get over it, and move on to the next 
Oh and report the profile for being a no show. |

I think its a rite of passage here...dont let it get you down..i would suggest speaking to them rather than text maybe? Easy to find out who is likely to turn up and who isnt...good luck in future |

please dont let it get you down,it happens,but there are very genuine people on here that do meet..you cant tarnish everyone with the same brush..Pick yourself up and start again.You havent really given the site a chance yet..Good luck OP. |

It is a couple that I know very well. And saw a profile piccy of them before they quickly took it off. They don't know that I know it was them. They have taken the profile off fab now |

Because they knew they would get reported quite legitimately for timewasting. Report it anyway.
Im afraid it does happen a lot on here. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself down and carry on with your journey on fab. Don't let it get you down. Join in with the forums, have a chat and a laugh, and don't take it or any knockbacks seriously. |

I love chatting in forums and online, but sadly rarely get many people chatting to me. I'm not confident and don't have the "gift of the gab" or may sound boring because of my shyness , thought I was getting somewhere, sadly not |

Sorry to hear that op , it's a shitty thing when people do that. It happens both ways though . In fact my meet for yesterday just vanished on Monday night without a word. I went out for a drink with someone else yesterday lunch and then went out for dinner and drinks with another gent last night . So pick yourself up , dust yourself down and go and find someone else that won't disappoint |

Sadly...almost like an inniation fab game at this stage..most here have had their time wasted in some shape or form.
Learn from it...not all are who they say they are, be it fakes or liars or saddos getting a twisted kick...lots of real people here for the same reason so hold out for the fab positives.

Some people get a buzz on the thought of a meet but are all talk.
Dont let it get you down. There are plenty of really nice genuine people on here and try and try not to take things to heart, it's meant to just be a bit of fun. |

I've had 2 no shows this year so far, 1 said he had just simply forgot despite only arranging it the evening before and the other cancelled after I had a gut feeling it wouldn't happen and I had to chase him for a time. His excuse was he had to entertain some work clientso at very short notice.
I won't be giving either of them a second chance so you see it happens to us all. |

Couple of things - that behaviour isn't typical. Just block and report to site admin.
As others say, the site needs long-term use in order to master it.
Take some steps to work on your confidence, over the long term too. |

i think best thing, for guys and probably anyone, is not to make a first meet with someone something out of your way. like make it a social and somewhere you might already be. |

OP i am sorry to hear your story but in truth it is the norm on Fab. I expect at least 50% to be timewasters and possibly more.
In future, don't make any financial or time commitments. Try and have a backup plan if, sorry when, they don't turn up.  |

Oh man that really sucks. As others said ignore/block them and just get back on the saddle. Plenty more people out there.
I always meet face to face on a casual date first before a play date. Most people will meet socially first, and if they don't I end it, and if things on the first date seem iffy then you haven't really wasted any quality time.
Saying that, on my second to last meet I got stood up by someone who I'd already had two meets with (and they are well verified). They text me all week saying how much they were looking forward to it. Then on the day radio silence. I'd booked the hotel two weeks prior too, and without insurance as it was the third meet, so I figured I was safe, lol. Then two hours before we were due to meet I got a really long text. In a nutshell they'd gone out on the piss and felt too ill to make it. I just text back saying too bad, hope you feel better soon. In reality, man was I fucked off. I spent that night alone in the hotel (first time ever). Turned out that night the family from hell stayed above me. From about 9pm until I left (!) it sounded like an exorcism was being done, doors slamming/being knocked on loudly, jumping on the floor, screaming. I complained at the front desk, as did several other people. I got a full refund in the morning and a free breakfast. Sweet! A week later I got a text apologising and asking to meet up at theirs for the night but I declined and left it at that. (there's more to it but I think I've said enough already haha). Anyway, I percivered and about two months had another meet.
