Don't want to talk at work

I'm going to start quite randomly.

Has anyone seen those dog coats/leads that are colour coded so people know from a distance whether the dog is friendly or not.

I have a job that puts me in front of customers, although I don't work directly with/for them. Most of the time I'm quite happy to explain what I'm doing, chat, listen to them talk crap.

However, every now and then I'm just not in the mood, and can't muster any enthusiasm to pretend I'm interested.

How I wish I could wear a high vis with a colour coding on it at times, so customers know whether it's ok to come chat or not, as it's hard work trying to look continuously busy.

Maybe it's midweek grumps

Hope everyone else's Wednesday is going well x

I wish I could do this. I wear a bog standard work uniform, so no way of adding to it, without having to explain why.

Not sure management would accept the reason that it's more polite, than telling the customers to fuck off

As long as your friends and family know the codes!

Could get nasty for innocent members of the public though.

this is a great idea there is certain people i work with who know to just avoid me all of the time. due to the fact they are complete bullshitters or ass kissers, neither of which are traits i admire in people. i have had to point out their failings in order for them to know not to interact with me unless absolutley necassary
