I do. However I was advised of it for other health issues. It's just like any supplements. The weight loss is down to life style changes but the coconut oil has great benefits.

An add on if you like.

No reason don't get defensive

I was just going to say joining a group really helps me stick to it, I never manage doing it alone but knowing I've got to get weight by somebody else every week really helps, but if you already go to one there's no need

Honestly I think people that have suffered bad anorexia and are beating their mental and physiological demons deserve more praise than someone who has made themselves fat due to a poor lifestyle and diet, and is slowly losing weight.

"Coconut oil. A spoonful a day. Breaks up body fats. Look it up online. Loads of health benefits. Lost 11lb in jan x

Really? Hype or fact?

Never heard that claim

Lots of different tests. I heard it off someone. Looked into it. It does have benefits. Good for allergies. Since made aware from other posts with people who have had bad skin clear up. I always say if it's legal and not detrimental give it a go x

Plus it's used in cooking as a healthy fat x "

I use coconut oil for my hair & skin, it's fabulous stuff, can honestly say nothing else comes close to taming my wild mop of hair....

"Honestly I think people that have suffered bad anorexia and are beating their mental and physiological demons deserve more praise than someone who has made themselves fat due to a poor lifestyle and diet, and is slowly losing weight.

um sorry but how do you know ppl on this thread havent got health issues that cause their weight issues

It's called freedom of speech and I've sugarcoat anything.

I very much doubt anyone with bad health issues are likely to be on fab but sorry that's the case with anyone.

Anyone with bad health issues are unlikely to be on fab !!!! No sex or chat about sex allowed if you have health issues. What kind of crap are you talking !

What about pregnancy, depression, medications, illness (countless examples) menopause etc etc......?

Also, many people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions seek support and encouragement from those around them as part of their recovery.

And 59 percent of women

At a cost of just over 3 billion a year so yeah there's your statistics and obesity in this country is the highest in Europe and rising!!!with it being one of the biggest drains on the nhs.

Not at all, I'm responding to the posters statements about why 'most people' gain weight and then why 'most people' lose weight. He's discounting endless alternative reasons and factors as if they don't exist. I'm merely pointing out that weight gain isn't that simple or straightforward. I have my own experience and of course knowledge of the issues experienced by many people in my life, as most people do. Nowhere did I claim to be an expert of any kind or to have all the answers. Only that his single minded view on overweight people is not based on fact or statistics.

And to add to that alcoholic and drug users get much support and praise when trying to kick the habbit, for most it's the support system that gets them through it, ok I've never seen anybody with a drink or drug problem post on here but that does not mean they don't seek a pat on the back every now and again and some kind words for their hard work

There's always a more diplomatic approach to giving feedback. And less offensive. I didn't gain weight due to laziness but I won't give personal readons on a public post. Who cares. My own choice to become healthier. Your post is no better than what society tells us. I think that's really what makes people sheep. Not congratulating someone. That's just being nice.

Love n peace

Of course...that accounts for the people who are overweight due to poor diet. It doesn't account for ALL overweight people.

but the vast majority are which is why obesity is on the rise!!! Or it's just happening by magic"

Ffs.....this is clearly pointless. I'm far too tired and bored to keep banging my head off this wall. I'll leave you to it Doctor Dan.

um sorry but how do you know ppl on this thread havent got health issues that cause their weight issues

Sorry this idiot has interrupted this positive post. Well done OP and all the others posting about their weight loss journey.

I am another steadily loosing weight and proud of my achievements so far.

I forgot anything posted on a forum you have to act like a sheep, and fit in, and definitely can't express any other veiw!!! Society nowadays is a joke. Do ever hear recovering alcoholics and drug addicts seeking attention and praise? No

It's a persons choices, and there responsibility for there lifestyle.

What about pregnancy, depression, medications, illness (countless examples) menopause etc etc......?

Also, many people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions seek support and encouragement from those around them as part of their recovery. "

very true

Well done OP, keep going!

Just reading through this thread. Regardless of how you got to where you were its great that you are making progress and consistently losing weight. The fact that you are sharing it publicly is brave and I give you my best wishes in achieving your goal.

You must already be feeling the rewards not having to carry that extra weight and living a healthier lifestyle.

Regarding coconut oil, it is fantastic stuff in moderation. Is great used for massage (warm slightly in microwave to turn from solid to liquid) and what many don't know is it is natures own lube, google it if you dont believe me. Has plenty of health benefits and uses, worth some research to find how else it can be used.

I can so relate to that, had a terrible split with my ex in 2014, the weight dropped off me, without doing anything.....went from 18 stone to 12, in about a year.

But now, I've been in a relationship for 10 months, and I'm back up to 14 stone!!!!!!! Strange how relationships affect your weight.
