Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I haven't seen it... I wasn't in the right place emotionally when it was out.

I won't bother to watch later for the result now.

my oldest sons sanctions are adding up, like one on top of the other, so he was getting less than £20 a week to live off. then they stopped his JSA altogether and told him he needs to claim ESA, not sure what's happening but someone else is helping him get his money sorted now.

at least his dad is involved properly with him now and has been for a while, for the first time in 20 years.

being on benefits has never been good but all these sanctions now are ridiculous.

my best mate got sanctioned as well, she has 4 kids at home with her. think her son has never actually claimed benefits because he has been sanctioned from day 1 and they just stop his money, he's 21 now.

there isn't much work round here so i keep advising young ones on benefits to go to college, at least it gives them something to do all day and they'd be entitled to money still. not really ideal if you're not academically minded but the best of a bad situation i suppose.

People constantly complained about benefit scroungers, so the government did something about it.

I don't think I will be able to watch the film, I can't cope emotionally with people suffering.

The media played a big part in ensuring the government cut benefits. People swallowed it up, banged on about benefits scroungers and cheats, and the government felt obliged to do something. Which was hiring a company to declare people fit for work and employ new, stricter rules to be eligible for JSA, or be sanctioned.

makes me ashamed! we're a comparatively wealthy country.we should be ashamed of how people are being marginalized, treated like shit..we can afford to use our national insurance...which is why we pay it..to provide a realistic safety net for people that need it!

Its about victimising the victims of the bankers....government be it our own or European decisions that have not worked out for certain sections of the UK, as it is divided!

The sad thing is no one chooses to be on JSA ...why the fuck would anyone choose to live on 70 whatever quid a week?

They don't but the government know that so they put stupid hurdles up to even cut that benefit in the hope that they will take a zero hour contract!

The sad thing is a lot do take it and may be lucky to get £30 PW...and don't get me onto the way the fucking job centres treat the poor fuckers!!

Its justs maddening and if you haven't seen the film you need to

"Just reading through the collective comments on this thread & you guys have actually written (collectively & inadvertently) an outline for a thought provoking script for a social commentary on our current society that goes beyond the Danny Blake theme

I think you should collaborate & write it!

my character tries to set fire to the houses of parliament.

maybe i will succeed or maybe i get arrested, the trailer won't show what happens.

pm me couple of days before bonfire night!..come kip on my sofa..few tequilas and im sure we can do some damage! im not that far from it!

so tempted, gonna watch videos of riots to calm me down now.

Don't calm down, stay angry and organise!"

thats one of the problems..the government made councils responsible for stuff that central government were responsible for previously...then cut council budgets..madness..and unsustainable!

I think you're a budding Sheila Delaney…& nothing better than inspiration from experience!

sheila delaney! inspirational!..and you'd think me a fraud! i dont even have any kids..but i do have a conscience..and im a careworker, and live with a nursery teacher..so see and hear the actual, stupid, day to day reality of cuts..and just as a human being..loathe the hatred that our country has suddenly shown in the last few years.... i was well arsey and political when i was young..it was easy when i was from a nice middle class family..but now im truly truly angry!!..and happy that im not alone! "

& that's why no one would view you as a fraud…because you've been moved by an experience whether your own or those of others.

Ok, if you don't want to write it, then I might because I've been moved by your collective voices that are real & reacting in real time with raw emotion. Its about time this country is portrayed as it really is by the people that know & feel & are hurt by how it is.

A bloody change has to come....history will look at this as one of the most inhuman times off what should be a civilized society gone wrong.

The clever politicians use whatever the public is in uproar about, to win elections. Knowing full well they won't change a thing the previous Government put in place or fucked up.
