We are a week earlier than some parts of the uk.
It's half term here also.
Our children are gone though.
"

It is harder to accommodate when they get older and refuse to go to Nan's but they will always come first before a meet and a night off for me is a night out not in lol x |

"It never fails to amaze me why people have children and hate to spend time with them "
I didn't say I hate spending time with them at all. They are my absolute world. It's been a tough few weeks for me, and I'm looking forward to a chance to have some time on my own and clear my mind. |

I'm not pissing on anyone's chips, I thought this was the thread about why half term was good. |

It wasn't directed specifically at you, people with children on here and out in the world often complain about their children and how they managed to get rid of them etc.
It comes across as if they don't know what a blessing those children are |

They are a blessing - she is my greatest achievement and I'd fight a great White to keep her safe. I love her more than anything in the world but 5 minutes away from 'Summer' and 'Kayleigh' and all the other dolls is sometimes a blessed relief |

Oh don't get me wrong there are days they drive me bloody bonkers! But they truly are my world. I feel very blessed everyday with them (although maybe not when they point out that I have white hairs on my head, or tag team being naughty). And the only reason they are away is because of a marriage breakdown, so it's not all as great as it seems. |

Truly they are a blessing my kids are my universe and come before everything else and always will, being a parent however can be exhausting and a break is necessary time to time too |

We are the 16th they have inset day on the Friday and there's loads of stuff going on for the Urdd cos the Eisteddfod is in Bridgend this year.
I'm lucky I can take my daughter to work with me, she comes with me when I take my lady shopping and to the swimming pool and gym and when I'm working in the gym she either goes in the pool or sits in reception with me or goes on the rock climbing wall! |

It's always sad when their non resident parents don't take much of a role with having staying contact especially when there's plenty of those out there who don't get the chance too and as you said it's the kids ultimately who get hurt and left with issues |

Yes they are a blessing...each and every one of mine and could not begin to list all the reasons why but do you know what is also a blessing... Having time to yourself... Be it a good book and glass of wine, a bubble bath or a fab meet...however you spend your spare time... That time is vital too in keeping the balance right between super insane mom and insanely super mom

Make the most of spending time with your kids
They soon grow up and fly the nest
My daughter is 25 and left home 5 years ago and although I do like my free time as and when I get some I miss her dearly
She has just spent a whole 10 days with me and when she leaves me tomorrow it will be very upsetting for me |
