It is harder to accommodate when they get older and refuse to go to Nan's but they will always come first before a meet and a night off for me is a night out not in lol x

I didn't say I hate spending time with them at all. They are my absolute world. It's been a tough few weeks for me, and I'm looking forward to a chance to have some time on my own and clear my mind.

It wasn't directed specifically at you, people with children on here and out in the world often complain about their children and how they managed to get rid of them etc.

It comes across as if they don't know what a blessing those children are

They are a blessing - she is my greatest achievement and I'd fight a great White to keep her safe. I love her more than anything in the world but 5 minutes away from 'Summer' and 'Kayleigh' and all the other dolls is sometimes a blessed relief

Oh don't get me wrong there are days they drive me bloody bonkers! But they truly are my world. I feel very blessed everyday with them (although maybe not when they point out that I have white hairs on my head, or tag team being naughty). And the only reason they are away is because of a marriage breakdown, so it's not all as great as it seems.

We are the 16th they have inset day on the Friday and there's loads of stuff going on for the Urdd cos the Eisteddfod is in Bridgend this year.

I'm lucky I can take my daughter to work with me, she comes with me when I take my lady shopping and to the swimming pool and gym and when I'm working in the gym she either goes in the pool or sits in reception with me or goes on the rock climbing wall!

It's always sad when their non resident parents don't take much of a role with having staying contact especially when there's plenty of those out there who don't get the chance too and as you said it's the kids ultimately who get hurt and left with issues

Yes they are a blessing...each and every one of mine and could not begin to list all the reasons why but do you know what is also a blessing... Having time to yourself... Be it a good book and glass of wine, a bubble bath or a fab meet...however you spend your spare time... That time is vital too in keeping the balance right between super insane mom and insanely super mom

Having twins are great if I'd not miscarried one twin in my last pregnancy my parents would have had two sets of twins just from me alone

"Youll have plenty time on your own when they have grown up and left the nest .... my house is far too quiet now ....

Sadly iv heard this often but there's always grandchildren on the horizon after they've flown the nest

That's what my dad said. 6 grandchildren in 6 years, 2 sets of twins in there too! He's really glad he mentioned wanting to be a grandad when I got married! (Not all six are mine!)"

Hehee awesome big families are great

Makes family events and days out fantastic even if expensive but the gossip and wind ups that comes with big families ugh not my thing at all hehe

Having twins are great if I'd not miscarried one twin in my last pregnancy my parents would have had two sets of twins just from me alone "

Wow good going hehe

"I never wanted kids

So never had any

I'm to selfish to have kids

Kids aren't for everyone

We all make that choice for ourselves "

Apart from those who don't have the choice.

I don't agree

Not every woman can choose to have or not to have kids

Well yes

I know some fathers out there that wished they'd put something on the end of it

Or women that are unable to and don't want adoption or other avenues

I meant more that not everyone is able to choose to be a parent. Anyone can choose not to be.

I'm looking forward to having no work at all and a week with my kids. It's such a rarity that I'm actually enjoying unemployment!

I get that completely

I thought I was too selfish until I had mine at 39

best decision I ever reversed

Make the most of spending time with your kids

They soon grow up and fly the nest

My daughter is 25 and left home 5 years ago and although I do like my free time as and when I get some I miss her dearly

She has just spent a whole 10 days with me and when she leaves me tomorrow it will be very upsetting for me
