Advice from caravaners please.
I've bought an old caravan and have been fixing various things.
The sinks can't have been used for a long time as they were blocked. Cleared the drains and connected an aquaroll full of water with bicarb in it.
I've pumped a load through and now the pipes are standing full of the bicarb/water mix. Will that be enough to clean it or am I better off replacing everything? |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
I don't own a caravan but a campervan, when I bought mine, waste pipe was very dirty, I disconnected it and flushed through with the HOZE then it was just bleach to ensure it was clean.
The main water pipes for the fresh water though I replaced for new, the water tank gets a flush out every six months and an added Milton tablets. I only use the tank water occasionally for drinking as I do tend to buy bottled water for drinking and just use this for cooking / wash up water.

No you do not change the pipes, I have had a caravan for years. for the drinking water sterilize the aquaroll and pipes, I always boil the water, as you can still get a tummy bug. If you want drinking water, or for cleaning your teeth. use bottled water, |

Just had a flash of inspiration;
Pub line cleaner. Surely this will clean things properly?
I still intend to use bottled water for drinking but washing up, hand washing, cooking water, hot drinks etc.... I'd like to be able to use the vans sink. |

Don't have a caravan but do live on a narrowboat. Household cleaners and sterilising products are all you need. Fit a water filter. If you're not drinking the water without boiling it and it runs clean then I'd say you should be alright for washing and washing up etc. |

What ever you do DO NOT use Milton
In the fresh water system
Especially if your caravan has a boiler/water heater with a stainless steel tank.
This will cause irreversible and costly damage to it.
Trust me I have change plenty due to this.
