No and if I caught someone trying to take a picture of me I'd take the phone out of their hand and smash it on the floor and jump on it. Traffic wardens are absolute cunts. Fair enough the council appointed ones who do book people that genuinely have ignored the rules but the penalties described above sound like a private parking firm.
I fucking hate the cunts hate them. I had a parking notice in July for not putting my ticket on my dashboard I put it in my drivers side window, considering I was parked nose first against a barrier with a wall to my left and approaching my vehicle the drivers window is the first thing you'd see. I bought a cunting ticket and still had a parking fine, £100, I appealed it twice and it was rejected then had solictots letters off gladstone solicitors who surprisingly are owned by two guys that own over 22 private parking companies. I appealed again when it went to court at December and was turned down I genuinely believe it was unfair to have a tickets just because it wasn't on my dashboard, now that notice went from 100 quid to £251.27 pence which I had to pay on the 29th December, I couldn't do it I was skint from Xmas. Paid it in full out of January's pay, again struggling cos January was an expensive month had to pay for removal vans and storage for my furniture. Paid it but was 2 days late and now have a ccj which will last 6 years on my credit file.
I will go to Bridgend town centre and I will hand round that car park waiting for the wabker who does the ticketing there and I will fucking give him a piece of my mind that's bad but not anything violent that would get me into trouble with police, just say some menacing curse words. I fucking hope he dies cos from that stupid thing I can't get a car on finance now and I was supposed to be picking up my scirocco this month!! Cunt plague on all tier houses. So no I wouldn't take photos of other motorists or try and tuck anyone else up either. |

I wouldn't use it myself, I don't think I could be arsed unless I saw parking that was actively dangerous or really affecting my life.
But I hope anyone who smashes the phone of someone who does, or is violent towards them, gets arrested for criminal damage and being a violent arsehole. |

Yes I would, but only of the cunts cars that are issuing the tickets I have actually witnessed myself vans pull up on double yellows to give tickets to cars overstaying their times on meters.

It's bad enough, that we've all encountered officious parking pricks, who are jobsworths.
If an app, is incentivising members of the public, to do a job which cctv and cosy DVLA agreements between parking companies, mug people off, with impunity, then being "policed" by anyone with an app, is sly.
We all see dodgy parking, daily. but this is too far. |

No wouldn't use it. You have reminded me that I do need to ring the council next week because I've got a disabled badge and I want to be able to park beep beep outside my flat but it's a ticketed parking zone so I need to know if I can use my badge or not. Plus it will be parked there for more then 3hrs. Xxx |

It's just bad karma. I wouldn't want to do anything that brings misery on someone else. Something needs to be done about these private parking firms.
Council tickets yeah, I see the point, people parked dangerously, blatantly not buying a valid ticket. But private films are actually ruining people's lives the knock on affect it has. Like a council one it's £35 if you pay straight away you take it on the chin. But 100 quid straight up even when you bought a ticket. All the stuff online with people's stories and private parking firms. Even mortuary private ambulances have had tickets off private firms! Disgusting and this app is a spin off from the private parking firms, they're making so much money from it this is a way to make even more, at least council tickets the money goes back to the local area somehow. |

I can see its uses when parking is endangering people. But although I've never had a parking ticket I find the behaviour of incentivised private parking companies abhorrent and the pettiness of traffic wardens completely unnecessary. So the downsides certainly outweigh its advantages. Armies of parking vigilantes with their phones out - no thank you! What the hell next? |

It will be a shit storm. I worked in a prison for almost 2 years, the number of people that had committed violent acts towards traffic wardens

That bothers me less than some of the really dangerous parking but I still wouldn't want a vigilante app. Think of the consequences |

Agreed, but parking like a dick to issue said penalty has got to be worth a ticket too

What are the consequences? More traffic wardens getting their heads kicked in by aggressive wankers? I'm not sure the app would be at fault. |

I've just looked it up. It is very limited. It looks like it can only be used to issue a ticket to somebody parked illegally on your land. So maybe your driveway or private company car park.
I don't think it can be used for general parking offences or staying in Asda too long etc etc. |

No. What if someone contests said ticket and it ends up in Court? The inconvenience to Joe Public will make it not really worth the aggro.
I'm indifferent to Parking Wardens but i've not lived in London so if i faced the frustration there, they might piss me off a bit more.
I worked in Cardiff for donkeys years and part of why i looked for a job outside the City Centre was car parking fees for all day parking. Just couldn't afford it no more. And public transport is shite if you live in a rural area, as i was then. |

Bollocks, I was about to go and stand outside Waitrose and make enough for my next holiday off people in 4x4s stopping on the double yellows because they can't be arsed to walk further than 10m to the shop. |

It's not the traffic wardens. If anyone can do it, there'll be anarchy. Parking rage will become the new road rage |

If that's the case and it's use tightly controlled ok - but it could still cause issues depending on how evidence is handled |

Of course but bawling and screaming in the street generally doesn't have consequences unless there's an app for reporting that too |

This more open system we have here is a result from the law Theresa May issued, that's allowed these private parking fining companies to flourish. No more clamping but now motorists are further under attack.
Fines, if needed, should be commensurate with any losses that have been incurred. That did used to be more the case until High Court rulings. |

If it was only used to capture cars parked illegally then it wouldn't affect me as I've never parked illegally.
It was just from the penalty amount it sounded like the same charges issued by private parking firms. Had visions of people hanging around in car parks inspecting people's tickets to make sure they are displayed correctly in the centre of the dashboard, or catching someone out that may have entered a digit or letter wrong on their number plate on the ticket or placing it upside down by mistake, or being 1 minute over the time on the ticket or any other stupid reason that gets you an unfairly issued ticket.
Reading the circumstances in which people have got tickets off these private firms is shocking, one that would've pissed me off, someone said they pulled up in a car park and saw the traffic warden, didn't have change, asked the traffic warden if they could change a note, the traffic warden saying they could go into the shop an get change and the person came back within 2 minutes and saw the same traffic warden printing out the parking fine and sticking it in their dash. Can you imagine them doing that to you!? They're on commission for tickets issued.
I'd rather pick up dog shit for a living than do that job. |

Private parking tickets are legal in Scotland.
Look up the case of Combined Parking Solutions -v- Edward Wales. He incurred £4,950.00 in fines at a Glasgow car park.
It was settled on the steps of the Glasgow Sheriff Court last year for £2,890.00 plus interest just before the Judge was due to hear the case. |

I'd use it for the abuse of disabled spaces alone. Something needs to be done about it... |
