It is very worrying. Radioactive contamination has already entered the food chain in the entire Pacific Rim, reaching the West Coast of America.

The sheer arrogance and culpable insanity of building a fission reactor on a tectonic plate boundary is beyond words.

However, the current alarmist headlines are not in themselves anything extra to worry about. As part of the decommissioning, they have discovered an area inside the reactor that is extremely radioactive. The radiation leaking into the environment has not increased, though any leakage at all is cause for concern.

Current estimates are that it will take 40 years to decommission - but who knows if it will be safe even then.

Japan has much to answer for.

A personal indepth look is needed by all to bring into focus the horror for all of us due to this.

It needs to be a worldwide collaboration of nucular waste containment experts to sorce funds and make safe the critical conpoinments.

No time for head in the sand peeps, one more earthquake and hundreds and hundreds of tons of radio active waste water held in inappropriate makeshift holding containment units will off to the sea and another explosion, 6 core meltdowns. Im no expert just very worried by this.

Japan in WW2 was the testing ground for a human apocalypse as i recall from history, sad

Thank you for your input.

Interesting fact, on the beaches of OR and WA, there are signs saying do not pick up or play on washed up beach debris like boats containers and the like as they may be contaminated with radioactive particles.

Just last year a barnacle covered boat was washed up that was radioactive.

Crazy when you think about it, crazy frightening that is...

Live in the Channel Islands, today there was an explosion very close by in France at a Nuclear plant. We're told it was a radioactive incident, but like many you can't trust initial reports.
