My shop's always done well having a lady work the weekends.

If customers are leery talking to me about toys they're always able to talk to her.

We both have our "regulars" who come in to chat and buy stuff.

The main thing is making each person through the doors feel welcome and given the full focus of attention when they require it or leave them be if they don't want any assistance with making the right selection.
