So my OH is days away from being induced and I cannot wait. She's had two sweeps now and we're hoping it will happen naturally but so far nothing. We both now just want it to happen for me because the suspense on finding out what we have and her because she's just had enough.
How have others coped if and when faced with similar? |

It's tough. My monkey was two weeks late and ended up being induced. She was so happy in there that the doctor had to use forceps in the end.
Patience is key |

Wave a fifty in front of the foof, when he/she reaches out to grab, make sure they don't go back in
Less flippantly, as dear shag would say 'patience is the key'
Best wishes for a smooth arrival |

I know exactly how you feel. My first was 11 days late. There's nothing worse than getting to your due date and that feeling of anticlimax when nothing happens. ...and the next day. . And the next! I can remember just being really fed up at that point. Hang in there though. I tried all sorts and have no idea whether they had any effect. I would avoid curry though. ..I tried that with one of mine. It was the last meal I had before giving birth and it was quite keen to come back up again after!
Hope all goes well. ..and soon! |

Both mine were 2 weeks late.
I had 3 sweeps & ended up being induced, things started happening pretty quickly after that.
I hated sweeps, found them painful & intrusive.
Good luck!! |

Parience!
Mine were 10 and 11 days late. I can remember sitting in the nursery with my first, turning on the mobile and willing the baby out!
I just kept as active as I could, rested when I wanted and glared at my partner if he said he was getting impatient |

I don't have any babies, but knowing how difficult it is to get outta my bed every morning, I can see why they don't wanna come out!
Wishing you both all the best, OP! X |

I tried everything and found the most effective to start contractions was nipple stimulation (I used a breast pump). However, I then had a three day labour do perhaps I was starting things before my body was ready. I let it all happen naturally with our second and labour was very fast and efficient. Just try and get as much sleep as you can now. So exciting meeting such a new little important person in your life though! |

If you are anxious for the baby to put in an appearance imagine how the Mrs feels.
I had enough of being pregnant by the middle of month 7 but just kept expanding, getting more uncomfortable and impatient to meet them.
But I had a bad 1st pregnancy, SPD and pre eclampsia. He turned up a week early, the day before I was due to be induced |

Nothing worse. How about being given an emergency c section 3 months EARLY |

Yes - and I ended up with a C-section, but that's another story! Don't be too impatient for the little one to arrive, there are no 30 day returns and they end up being squalling teenagers with attitude. Enjoy the anticipation! |

The day before I had my second child -a few days early - we went swimming and had sex. My pains started in the night, across my back. I went for my antenatal that afternoon and they told me to come back later to book in. I had her at 8.16 am the next day. |

Just reading your post took me straight back to the excitement of the last few days of each of my pregnancies. All of mine were early either through planned or emergency cesarean so I never had the wait but I just wanted to say good luck with everything, your bundle of joy will be worth the wait. |

Mine were late and on time (ish).. Eldest we tried curry and sex... Former gave heartburn, later was just fun.. Eventually waters broke a couple of days later but was a five hour birth.. Ventouse delivery in end... Lot less barbaric than forceps ex insisted.
Above all have patience and enjoy, it's an amazing experience. Good luck |

I was induced with the last 2 babies, had very quick labours compared to the first 2.
The end is in sight, my advice is sleep as much as you can so that mummy can sleep and you can look after baba
Good luck guys xx |

Sex worked for us with the first. About 4hrs after we finished, my waters broke. 16hrs later she was born.
Looks like we've had it taken out of our hands this time as just discovered this one is breech with only 3 weeks to go - looks like we'll be booked in for an elective c section
Good luck!
