Looking to start booking train/bus for coming to Birmingham for the beach party.
Bus is the cheaper option, with Mega bus being really cheap but the times are awful, National Express is still reasonable but seems to take 2 and a half hours longer that megabus!
So my questions are what train station am I looking to get to? And ive been told if the journey is divided up it could work out cheaper, so whats a half way point?
Thanks in advance, think it may be a long night in front of the laptop.

be careful if you divide the journey up because the tickets are time specific, so if you are delayed and miss the connection you are not entitled to get the next train, like you are with a full route. |

Only takes just over an hour flying, train is nearly 5 hours but do you still have to book in two hours in advance. Transfer from airport to new street Single fare from new street to wolverhampton is £5.80 |

Shaz you are a star.
Looks like I will be flying.
Even with the 2 hours book in, still taking a cpl of hours of the journey.

DONT BOTHER WITH TRAINLINE.COM
Sorry for the shouting bit but it may prove so much cheaper still to book directly with Virgin who are the train provider you`ll be travelling with.
Try looking at "splitting your journey up" by going to Carlisle, Preston or Crewe. In reality you`ll be travelling on the tsame train or you may have to change once or twice. The best person to speak to on here is Fabio as he`s worked in the field of train ticketing. |

I've only speed-read the posts but it looks as if there's a few people from central Scotland heading for this event.
Might there be value in hiring a mini-bus if the numbers are there?
The problem with public transport is that the cost goes up in proportion to the numbers whilst the opposite is true if you have/ hire a small bus. |
