couple, us we him her.

Which other sites other than autotrader can people recommend please?

Also

I really don't understand how and why these "car supermarkets" can get away with charging a admin fee?

You don't go into a clothes shop buy a new suit only to be told that you have to pay an admin fee!

I certainly won't be buying from these dodgy gits.

Pistonheads have a classified section too.

If you're after something specific you could always register at owners club websites as they normally have classified sections too.

No nothing special. Just a solid reliable motor that will last for a minimum of 7years until we can renew.

Automatic, petrol, economical.

Our last one off gumtree. Don't buy a french automatic. Gearboxes are terrible. Might be worth looking and Japanese models.

I'll add to the EBay recommendations, but with any second hand, make sure you have a good knowledge of what to look for mechanically or take someone who does. And always take your time viewing a car, don't be pressured into making snap decisions.

Don't buy French at all, bad reliability and expensive to fix.

Japanese and Korean males are good for reliability, as are Skoda and Seat (VW's with a different badge basically)

I ride a motorbike most days and hire Mercs when travelling on business. No issues.

I drive an auto and when i was looking for a car i was advised by 3 motor mechanics to look for a ford or a Japanese model. Apparently they have far fewer gearbox issues and are generally more reliable and cheaper to fix if something does go wrong.

My first car was a Mercedes A140 auto. I did about 100 miles in it before the gearbox went. It wasn't economical to repair so it ended up at the scrapyard . After that I got a cheap focus and it's great.

I bought a brand new car on carwow. Brill finance price, about 25% off the list price and then just settle the finance within 14 days and it's essentially cost you nothing for the discount.

Sold the old car through Gumtree which was free, quick and loads of interest.

When I was looking a few weeks ago I found gum tree was quite good. Ended up buying one from a garage thought just due to circumstances.

couple, us we him her.

So now we have finally narrowed the search down to one car.

A lexus ct 200 hybrid

All the research seems to be coming back very positive, reliability, economical, looks, build quality is right up there with the best of them.

But our first hybrid car.

Guess as long as it's got a full lexus history, reasonable miles and hpi clear we should be ok?

Up on them there hills

Car auctions are good, it's where a lot of the dealers buy their cars from.

Follow what the dealers are bidding on, they want the least amount of work and a quick turn around, so are usually in the know.

Well we will be buying a second hand vehicle anyway and before April 1St

From what I can make out the lexus is currently at zero tax and it will remain so unless it's a new car registered after April 1St.

All these super low emissions car's that manufacturers have poured millions into developing will soon be very undesirable given how much the tax changes are going to be.

Once again the government has found another way to fuck us over!

Look for very low mileage....hybid cars suffer battery problem when they reach 100k so it will depreciate like crazy
