Argh the DBS service aren't helpful AT ALL. Sorry, I know it's a little early in the week for a rant.

I waited 6 months for a DBS check once, I know people who have waited longer.

I think I had 3 different ones from 3 organisations at one time...so much for transferability..

Need to sign up to the update service, I think its about £15 and then they're transferable

I thought once you get your certificate, all you have to give is the id number from it and then the organisation checks that. They don't get another info from your certificate due to confidential info on there. We only give our numbers.

Organisations are not allowed to keep a copy of it, however unless you join the update service you could be asked for a new DBS at each place you work.
