Is anyone going to see the new 50 Shades Darker film?

Scarlett wants us to go see it on Valentines Day, which is when it opens here in Manchester. I'm not too keen but it might give me an opportunity to have some kinky fun with her in the cinema and after, so can't complain.

We will probably be going to the Printworks if anyone else is going

We're going on Valentine's Day too. We have two for one tickets so have to do it that day haha. I'm really excited. The second book was the best one and they have switched directors so hopefully this one will be better than the first!

The first one was awful so won't rush to see the second.

I wonder if people who fumble in the cinema realise there's night vision cameras that feed to a screen in the main lobby so staff to monitor

I love the sound track from the first film.

Annie Lennox (I got ahold on you)

Gets me in the mood everytime.

Am just hoping the music on this one is as good.

Oh and I did like she bit her lip.

Going next week. Really looking forward to it.

I don't understand the hatred for it. Loads of shit films are loved by many as 'classics'.

The people that rush to say they hate it are the ones desperate for social recognition.

"No, I thought the books were pants can't see the films bring any better."

It's funny how the books and film generate such polarised opinions.

Scarlett really enjoyed both the books and the film. She just sees them as a love story, with a kinky twist.

God no! Wouldn't read the books either! My Sister in laws words were...."They are really good books....badly writen, but really good!" Uummm no!! I am sure a badly writen book IS NOT a really good book... pretty sure I can find better stories on the forum here in the Stories bit, if I need to read sumin to get me going

I love reading but I just found them to be quite poorly written, that's not to say they weren't readable as I read all three in a week but I got bored with the sex scenes, and didn't like some elements of the books. And following on from the books I'm quite fed up of being asked if I'm sub or dom as it seems lots of people think you have to be one or the other and I consider myself to be neither.

I'm not fiercely against 50 Shades in the way that many people are. I enjoyed the first book, which initiated some interests. I gave up on the second book as it seemed like a normal love story and I'm not into that, but each to his own. I found the film a bit disappointing as I don't think it truly reflected how I had interpreted the book. I will see the second film at some point.

50 Shades seems to be very love hate. I'm firmly in the latter category.

I read the first book ... It was awful, though unintentionally amusing in places. The book read like a teenagers take on S&M to me. I only finished it as I don't like to give up on things and in the hope it would get better.

I probably won't bother, but I don't have the enormous hatred and feeling of superiority towards the books that many seem to have. I just found the characters a little irritating.

Not sure that many who hate it seem to have a superiority complex. .. Though some do.

It's just not my thing. Hubby wouldn't have bought it me if he'd realised it was essentially Mills n Boon with S&M.

Seats booked and paid for. Night with the girls, back row seats and hand bag full of mini bottles of wine

My friends are all vanilla so they think the film is great, where me I'm not vanilla and think it's crap

But it's a night out for me

Not meeting

I read the books but I had been single for 6 months after a 20 yr relationship/marriage. With a bit of added imagination they helped fill my needs

I have no desire to watch the films though. Story of O would be my recommendation

I won't bother. I found the first film as sexy as a smear test. The two leads seemed bored rather than driven mad with lust

The only sexy kink film I've seen was Secretary.

Thought all the books were pretty dire and totally over hyped...read each one hoping it would be an improvement on the last...it wasn't

Based on that I have no desire to sit through any of the films.

"I think it's sad he has to be abused to want to do what he does (badly) "

I agree....

I really think it's deeper than it appears. His past 'made' him that way (because he's nice really). She's innocent and he 'makes' her enjoy sex (because good girls don't like sex).

It's all kinda sad in a teenage dream way. I can see why it was so popular with many people. Sex is bad - only naughty people enjoy sex.

I think the whole dom/ sub thing is just a sub plot to give them a reason to fuck with no guilt. It's not all about BDSM at all- the whole 'cable tie' outrage was over one tiny irrelevant scene.

It's sad that society needs a film like this. It's depressing.

Even the first one was better - I'm really affected by soundtracks of films and I really didn't like it!

Not that I though it woud be a masterpiece but it could have at least been entertaining!

And Christian Grey is the shittist Dom ever lol!

I don't think hardly anyone that bitches about the books have actually read them. They focus too much on certain aspects that are only minor.

They just think it's cool to slag it off. Their ignorance shows them up.
