Siren is an emotional wreck at the moment (understandably) and she blubs at the slightest little thing, so we sat down and talked about it and I came up with a solution..
Whenever she's watching something (it was the Terry Pratchet thing about euthanasia tonight) and she feels the old waterworks welling up (welling, geddit  ) she should switch over to Star Trek. Any of them will do cos people rarely die in Star Trek (apart from when a sun goes supernova and every bugger buys it) and, if someone's number is up, the programme makers give you advance warning cos the soon to be deceased will be wearing a red uniform.
What could be simpler.  |
