Sometimes it tells a story - like if I see a man with the ingredients for a nice meal and a bottle of wine and a DVD. I think he's most likely cooking a romantic meal for 2 and spending the evening on the sofa with his partner.
Yesterday a middle aged man bought 2 cans of deodorant and 2 packs of cookies..... Baffled me |

Years ago I was a checkout girl in Sainsbury's. I used to analyze shopping to pass the time. Often it was fairly straightforward. Nothing too warped. Until one evening shift I had a guy of about 50 come through my till with, pain killers, wine and a turkey baster..of course most night think dinner party and hangover. Not me ...I gave up thinking too much about peoples shopping after that |

There's nothing better! Aldi must have a field day with me, cos I'm a freak n have silly habits. I like to buy something off thier specials lists at least weekly so often I only go in for these items. They must notice. this week I brought, 2 Yog n toffee protine bars (they were yuck), a black ribbed high neck jumper, a small fridge tray and a Welsh Rugby top. xxx |

Nope, none of my business what's in someone else's basket.
What I do get annoyed with is when the person in front is taking ages to pack their bags. It means that it gives the person behind me more time to be nosy and analyse what's in my basket.... |

I once got a guy to go shopping before a meet. Just to see if he would take instruction. The list was long and varied, and he had a time restraint! Pictures had to be sent to me, once purchased!! I did push him.... Large bag of ice, root ginger, real wax candles, two huge courgettes, baby oil, clothes pegs, wax kit.....clear decoration plastic sheets from wicks!
Etc...then made him purchase pink panties in m&s and take pics in the dressing room...
Had to drive to the meet with panties and one stocking on under his jeans. He made it! By5pm
So... Yes!! I always check out the baskets

"When we do a condoms and lube shop we always throw the largest cucumber we can find in too.
A little amusement for the check-out staff and delicious cucumber sandwiches for us."
As to other peoples shopping... I love things like a massive stack of healthy salad followed by a singularly large chocolate cake. Or old ladies with nothing but brandy and butter. Shopping that tells a story. |

I dooooooo as I am a nosey mare, I love to see what people are buying plus it has given me ideas of what to buy the week after.
The middle aged man with the cookies and deodrant sounds like something Mr ruggers would do, if he had ran out of deodrant and gone in just for that he would have picked up something nice too and his nice is ginger and something cookies. |

"No, I'm too busy hiding the pasties and mars bars underneath the apples and carrots "
That actually made me laugh out loud as Friday, don't know why, but I felt inclined to hide the tirimasu under the Mueller Lights. When I got home scoffed the tirimasu and put the packaging in the recycling bin outside.
The Mueller Lights have pride of place in the fridge! |

I'm always looking at the stuff other people buy on the conveyerbelt. When I worked in a shop it used to fascinate me what people buy, why they chose certain products and for what use... |
