Have you found that the older you get the more of an emotional twat you become at "that time" of the month?
I can't tell if I'm getting worse or its just how I'm feeling generally multiplied.
When I was with my ex I used to get really angry at that time, but that's generally how I felt most of the time I guess. Now, well, I'm finding emotions I was hiding or trying to suppress just rear up and slap me hard. |

That sounds awful. Pms is a curse.
I can't say mine have become worse with age, I can see the signs and try to control it.
I'm a slave to my emotions at time. |

W."
This was the only symptom I had for many years and did find it got worse as I got older. I even used to cry at adverts on the telly. I don't have periods anymore but funnily enough still seem to get emotional at silly things around once a month |

"I didn't find it any worse as I got older but I did find that how I was feeling generally was magnified.
No PMT is one of the many good things about growing older."
This is what I was unsure of. I'm struggling to tell if it's getting worse or just because it's different emotions. |

The last couple of years I've noticed that the build up lasts longer and lingers after my period. Before I'd just get a bit of pain in my lower back a couple of days before and I'd know it was coming. Now I can be irritable for 10 days or more leading up to it, I get hungrier almost ravenous and then after I've come off the irritability starts again! |

Same here, I well up over the silliest things for a full week before. Tv ads, silly stuff on Fb and even rugby games. |

I think mine got worse after I was sterilised 7 years ago.
I get the whole boob aching 2 weeks in, then the week before everything is magnified ten fold, I'm either high as a kite, down and tearful, or angry over absolutely nothing. The minute it starts, normality resumes whatever I'm feeling disappears as quick as it came.

Since i hit 40 my periods have caused me to be an emotional nightmare the week before my period. So much so i almost came to blows with a woman at my son's old School.
I had so much rage i actually felt like ripping her car door off and dragging her out of the car by her hair, all because she gave my son a dirty look as he opened our car door.
That feeling of intense anger really scared me, because it had taken every ounce of self control not to act on it, and i'm not like that, i'm a fairly easy going laidback kinda gal.
I got home, rang my mum in tears who dragged me to the Dr's. They thought i was probably peri menopausal but because i have mental health history they chucked me on medication.
Did it help? To a degree, but they were strong and i felt out of it so eventually weaned myself off them.
My homelife at that time was stressful so i sold up and moved and since then although i am moody it is a manageable moodiness.
If you have any concerns get to your Dr!! |

I was a late starter when it came to periods, I think I was 16, but I never had any problems with them..
when I was on the pill they came as regular as clockwork and no nasty side effects..
and then I entered the peri menopause and they suddenly went haywire! they could last anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks, plus flooding which was awful
but now all that has passed and the only way I can tell when it would have been my time of the month is when I get a rather large spot on the back of my neck, and that soon disappears |

Excuse? Nope, was a genuine question asking other LADIES if they had noticed their emotional side getting worse as they got older at that time of the month. Did I not word it simply enough? |

I'm 40 this year, I was a wreck yesterday, cried all day and was laughing at myself and annoyed with myself at the same time. Came on this morning and I'm a totally different person, my "normal" self again |

"Yes, tears one minute then could rip someone's head off the next. And I've also found lately that I'm horny as hell for days before x "
It all seems so real at the time though. Well, this time round it did more so because my timing was off and I didn't know for sure it was hormones. |

Not for me. I'm lucky that I rarely get PMT.
The total irregularity is bloody annoying though. I used to be regular as clockwork, now I can go 3 months with no periods at all and then have 3 in 6 weeks
I think things just change as you get older...
