So I was sat here wondering out of the 30 odd thousand people on this site
How many actually know about the forums
As I have chatted to a few people now and mentioned the forums and they hadn't got a Scooby into what I was going on about
So what percentage of people know about and post in the forums
And what about the lurkers who just read and don't post
Over to you forumites ...what do you say in the matter |

Not very many come to the forums. There is whole other layer to this site. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I agree it's phenomenally low, and this is often used as a reason why the forums aren't worth updating.
And that makes me wonder, would more people use them if they were updated? Chat was updated - what effect did that have on usage levels?
(Wrong forum, I know) |

"I've just started using the forums after being a member on and off for years .. I am finding them very ...useful ...informative. .. and sometimes a little ..wierd "
You get used to them after a while
The weirdness intermingles with the useful and informative |

Whenever I check forums there's always the usual posters. And considering that number is smaller than the number of people in London alone. I'd say woefully low percentage. But on the flip side you do form a better rapport with the usual gang than 1000 new faces. Or in this sites case 1000 new penises |

Very low.
There are so many lurkers though! I get several messages a day about things I have posted from various people. I don't like the term lurkers though; it sounds sinister. Maybe we should call them watchers. |

Watchers it is ...and yes I've had messages commenting on something I've said and never noticed them in the forums |

I'd hazard a guess and say a very low percentage of people on Fab know about the forums..either that or they do know about them but don't use them.....
I love the forums..my fave part of Fab.

I'd say its about 5% of the whole site who actually use the forums
and of those that lurk, I'm guessing they don't post for fear of either getting ignored or getting jumped on |

Yes, that's much better!
How about "audience"? I've had the odd message off one or two (one led to a regular meet) too, and I think they saw the forums as a kind of soap opera

"I'd say the number of regular forum posters is in the hundreds..and probably somewhere around 300-400 at most...so yeah 1% of overall site membership is about right."
Think I need to start perv...I mean looking into the outside world of the forums and check some profiles out

Isn't getting jumped on what most people join for |

I have also had messages from people about something I have posted in the forums who I've never noticed in the forums..so I'd say there are definitely 'lurkers' or 'watchers'

I was going to say the Women should change their status to,
I will only be chatting in the forums from now on so if you want to chat with me you know where I am,
But I for one don't want/need any extra Men on here |

"You should start a thread asking the ones who don't know about the forums to let you know?
Done
Awesome!
Sadly it's already getting jumped on by regulars."
But still have the lurkers posting |

I often wonder what the thousands on Fab get up to - they're not in here.
Fab could force new users into the forum, as part of a formal guided induction process, over a couple of weeks / first 20 visits etc.
It's a pity to have the functionality but it's not used by most people here.
Like others, I'm assuming it's within 1% of users here. |
