As it stands I'm over an hour late for work because the dog had explosive diarrhea this morning.
I had to send a pic to the boss to prove it.
What excuses have you have;
A) genuinely used because it was true.
B) used.....but it was bullshit
C) heard of someone else using but getting away with it. |

I was once 2 hours late because i didnt wake up to my alarm. However having started work on that day for the past few weeks at 11am, i just said i thought thats when i was meant to be starting  |

I once used ' road workers were tarmacing my street and had to wait for it to dry.
I usually point out that if I hadn't turned up at all that me being there is actually early.  |

I'm a bit conflicted.
On the one hand, having a boss as untrusting as OP would be reason to change employer.
On the other hand, jobs where you can get away with sending pictures of dogshit around are few and far behind...

Opt A....I opened a tin of paint in my bedroom as i was getting ready for work one morning (can't remember why!) and I accidentally kicked the can all over my bedroom carpet. I couldn't leave it to dry on there, so had to spend an hour cleaning it up. Not sure if they believed me when I rang in to explain why I was going to be late.  |

A similar thing happened to a lad I used to work with. When he got in he was put on a warning and told he should have got a new carpet. |
