I really want to go there
Jump to: Newest in thread
Afternoon peeps,
Slobbing on sofa watching a film or two on my day off I have just seen a great little film that was set in Sorrento, having been there as a teen on a school holiday I had forgotten how beautiful it was.
I now have a hankering to revisit the place.
I did same with Iceland after seeing Secret life of Walter Mitty.
Has anyone else thought 'I wanna go there' after seeing it in a film or TV show and actually visited? |

New York City after watching Cagney & Lacey. I love New York.
Also visited and loved San Francisco. Very friendly
Disapointed with Las Vegas though. The Hotels had carpets in their lobbies like the penny arcades down Barry Island. Put me right off. |

Bruges - our experience was a lot more sedate than the film In Bruges. But I have an ever growing list of places to visit inspired by film and TV most latest is Nepal after watching Dr Strange - just lacking the funds |

Yep, when I went to Phoenix Arizona in '86, I visited several places where films had been shot, also a rather quaint church in Albuquerque New Mexico that was seen in a film whose name escapes me at the moment

I like them both because they aren't sickly sweet romance films. |

Captain Correlli's Mandolin made me remember how much I love Kefalonia. I met an old Greek guy when I was last year who showed me the memorial to the Italians who were assainated by the Germans in WW2. And lots of the ruins from the earthquake in the 1950's. Interesting island.
I always wanted to live there as it's stunning . |

"Bruges after watching In Bruges.
Is that the film with loads of violence and murders? "
It has a few murders, yes. A black comedy. Brilliantly written and acted. Brendan Gleeson is fantastic as always. |
