Name your top 5 non superhero, fantasy or supernatural graphic novels or series. From Hell is excluded as it should be in everyone's top 5.

In no particular order:

Garth Ennis World War 2 books (there are half a dozen but all good shows the war in human terms).

Scalped by Aaron and Guera investigations on an native American reservation, greed? Corruption double crossing and violence. What is not to like!

100 Bullets Azzarello and Risso corruption, violence, sex and thugs in sharp suits. Also a series rather than one book

Criminal by Brubaker and Phillips again a series rather than one book.Pulp noir small-time crooks with big problems usually imminent death.

Torso by Brian Bendis. Yes owes a lot to From Hell and based on a true story and an investigation by Elliott Ness (he of Untouchables fame) for a serial killer.

Honourable mention Y:The Last Man by Vaughan and Guerra. As it says on the tin.

2) Monstress - Marjorie Liu

3) Saga - Staples & Vaughan

4) Seconds - Brian Lee O'Malley

5) Lumberjanes - Noelle Stephenson

(this list is more recent because if i had an all time list it would be full of the same old same old - Alan Moore, Maus, Sandman, Persepolis)

Actually just wanting to get away from the same old superheroes and villains. I did not want the usual suspects to appear Sandman, Swamp Thking, Preacher, Jonah Hex etc. I love fantasy too. I will have to check your list out.

Yeah you should, Saga and Monstress are beautiful. Monstress has this art deco/steampunk/Japanese style that I love. And Saga is grand scale space opera.
