Have your tastes changed, and whats your preferred poison?

Yes used to have it with Coke but the Ginger ale is much nicer, I'm leathered after 4 of them |

"Don't talk to me about alcohol. Had a meet in Thursday and we went to the pub first. Several double vodkas and a few pear ciders along with some pork scratchings and cue me throwing up all over the bed
Mind it was partly his fault "

On a hot day working in the garden it has to be ice cold Kronenburg 1664. In the evenings we tend to pick a bottle of red from our Sunday Times wine selection we get every three months and launch into that. Tonight's is a 2009 Torres La Plaza.
Although Siren can't have any alcohol at all in her condition, which means all the more for me!! |

Congratulations. That's one of the milestones in a man's drinking life.
Right up there with discovering that it isn't always about getting pished, that malts are more interesting than blends and that Port isn't just for hookers and pensioners.
You have world of new experiences ahead of you. Enjoy. |

That's not one I've tried. It's easy to get a bit anoraky about real ales so I work on the basis that I really like Caledonian Brewery's Deuchars and that's what I'll drink normally - unless I'm visiting somewhere which has a local micro-brewery, in which case I'll try their produce.
There are people out there who treat real ale drinking as a bit like Munro bagging - it becomes their life's objective to drink/ climb every single one, tick them off in a book and engage in conversation with like-minded saddos about the experience |

beers or ales, we love going to regional beer festivals.
We've booked to go to Bridgenorth Beer Festival in September/October.
We've got a few decent breweries here in Cornwall, Sharps, Skinners and St Austell Brewery.
I love St Austell's Tribute Ale, and Skinner's Betty Stoggs |

I'm Teetotal!
I'm a Scot, but not a good example!
I HAVE tasted many alcoholic drinks, but to me they all taste the same, like vinegar!
Despite all the above, I used to be a Licensee, running real ale pubs as well as normal bars and never had any problems with the beers. |

Are you OK tasting food? You get sweet, sour, salty and bitter? |

"sloe gin with ice mmmmmmmmmm "
If you like Sloe Gin you might try making a Rumtopf except with Gin instead of Rum - a Gintopf if you like.
There's plenty of recipes online and you can emphasise the fruits you like and cut back on the ones you don't care for.
Start any time now and it'll be perfect for winter warming.
Use a BIG container! |

"Whys that used to enjoy a newcastle brown ale"
Dog had a certain couthieness which helped sales out of all proportion to the quality of the product.
Magners, Caffreys and Guinness have a similar nonsensical connection (in this case) to the 'Auld Country' and the marketing guys are milking it for all they're worth whilst rubbing their hands all the way to the bank.
They're not unique in this. The Scotch Whisky guys do much the same, the Whiskey distillers do the same and I imagine there's alcohol producers across the world selling people the same, unfulfilled, dream. |

I have absolutely no problems with food, it's just alcohol I cannot stand the taste of! |

For me voddy and diet (full fat is too sweet before any comment) or lager
For him real ale
Have tried a few ales myself and quite liked a few, Nutty Slack being one, but let him buy first so I can taste before I decide if I want the same |
