It was pointed out on the "advice on profiles" thread yesterday that I don't have any photos of my body.
I have tried to take some before and hated them all.
Does anyone have any tips on how to take a good body selfie? |

"Don't know about good but I do 10 sec timer, breath in, find the better angle and repeat until you get one that is ok "
Damn you are good at body shots.
I will try the timer and breathing in |

I take all of my own pictures, I use my laptop and a plug in camera so I can alter angles if needs be, plus you can select, 2,5 or 10 seconds intervals to get in position/pose.
Take at least 20 and I am sure you will find at least one you are happy with |

Just point and shoot. Try with flash on and flash off or real light and artificial light. Body hair can also make a difference so if you're really hairy it can cover up the definition. |

I prop my phone up on shelves and pillows and use the self timer to do mine. Like London Guy I take a few until I find the one's I like. Cropping, filters and effects can help to get the best out of what might be a mediocre photo overall. |

I can also control my phone camera from my watch and that is a bit of a godsend. Means less photos of my arse hurtling across the room to get in to position |

Lean phone against a book or shoe stand in front of it, find you can see all your wobbly bits, lean phone against something higher up, try to get said phone to balance on an angle, set the timer to ten seconds hit capture button run into position, pose, check the picture, realise you didn't breath in, cry, set phone up again, run into position, breathe in til your lungs hurt, pose, check photo, notice your clothes arent sitting right, cry adjust clothes. Repeat 100+ times check all the photos end up deleting all but one, edit the life out of it, upload to fab, realise you hate it |

Good lighting, camera pointing at nipples level or so depending on the angle you want to take, lean forwards a little (depending on the lighting angle) and flex!
Then simply crop out the silly looking flex face . |

Timer, lay down as from above always takes attention away from wobbly bits. Breathe in.. Take a few. Then crop and filter while feeling inferior. . Eventually just don't bother or think fuck it and post anyway! |

Stand directly under a light n try from all the different angles so you can see what position looks best to you.
Angles n lighting/shadows are a big part of taking a good pic
Then edit n filter the shit out of it! |

"Thank you for the advice
So
-timer
-or video and grab frames
-breath in
-lighting
-take lots and pick
-crop
-filter
I'll give it a go."
That's about the sum of it
Also think about how you want to pose, full body shot, partially clothed, from the front / behind. |

Prop up laptop on something to use the camera function on the webcam. Move furniture and random crap out of the way. Keep the curtains shut in case the neighbours are in. Enable bluetooth keyboard. Try and angle tattoos and face out of shot. Hit return key and try and throw the keyboard onto the bed whilst maintaining pose for the 3 second countdown. Repeat loads. Swear. Try again the next day. A year or so ago I would have added keeping the cat out of the room to the list.
Or video and stills. Far easier but much lower quality. |

Decide what kind of shot you want...prepare the background (tidy up, no one wants to see your shreddies or last night's Maccy D wrappers!), set up whatever equipment that's needed and take a few practice pix to align everything.
"Use the timer" It's a fantastic tool. I use a 2 second delay for action shots and 10 seconds for solo/selfies. If I try to pose for a pic it turns out crap, so I try not to look into the camera. Camera angle and cropping are great tools too and then you have the usual option of refinement's through whatever app you choose to use.
One thing I have found, there's a good image in most of the pix you consider bad unless they're out of focus. It's just a matter of cropping.
P.S. The majority of my pix are taken on my fone and adjusted by Aviary photo app. |

Nice pix, they seem quite sharp. I'm no photography expert, more of a press & click person.... and hope for the best! Lol |

Lighting helps and man scaping, something I have tried and works well. I recommend staying away from photo editing, so many on here use that and people make out to be something there not...... which you find out when you meet the

Just wing it bud. You are far better off just letting it be underwhelming than appearing to be better in my opinion, if someone takes a liking to it at least they'll be even more pleased in person |
