Want to know of any close to where I am, but not suite 69.... they don't allow men in knickers in there 
What is the general expectations from people, can I just go and chill... no pressure to play... or is it expected in there? |

It is not exactly a gay sauna but have you considered the gay/bi night at Eureka Sun Club (which is very near Brands Hatch and I guess is about 35 minutes from you on a good day). Normally this is naturist spa but has a selection of specialist parties hosted there.
I have only attended one of these parties but it was a very inclusive environment and I can't see anyone there have a problem with any choice of attire on that evening. It was also somewhere that it would be quiet acceptable not to play if no-one is taking your interest. If your interested it would be sensible to checkout the club review section. |

I would second that Pink Broadway in Southampton is very good and well managed as is Touch Sauna in Swindon (although I have only been to this one when it was hosting Swindon Swingers, remix party) but I guess both are a bit too much of a trek over from Basildon. Unfortunately the same can't be said for some of the other saunas. |

A lot of saunas now offer TV/TS nights
Those nights might be better suited if you want to wear knickers etc
You don't have to dress fully - there is always a good cross section at the ones I have stumbled across |

I only wear the knickers... no other female clothing.
Suppose it's a case of just going to one and seeing what it's all about... it's different from a swingers club though as that's a lot more social |

Saunas and swingers clubs have a universal rule, no =no - as you'll know from your club experience.
Some people can be predatory and persistent, so I wouldn't encourage anyone who isn't ultra confident to visit and leave themselves open to it.
As with clubs they can be places where you can watch others - how they operate, them having sex if in the open. I go to some on tgirl special days, but they won't be 100% typical of other days.
I get bi and curious guys together, for relaxed, supervised some of the time, exploratory sessions. You could consider something like this, where a matchmaker makes the connections and pairings. |

Most saunas don't allow underwear of any sort. It's towels or nothing, which is why I suggested a TV night.
I have only ever seen one guy in panties on a non TV day and he was laughed at, pointed at and generally made to feel a bit of a joke.
Disgraceful behaviour, that no one deserves.
You'd be surprised at how ultra bullishly macho guys can be when on cock patrol. |

Well that has just made my mind up even more NOT to go to one then.
In don't laugh at others for what they wear, and I wouldn't want to be laughed at for my choice of underwear either. |

I don't know your area but when I travel around I just internet search for saunas in the area I'm visiting, check the pics and reviews and give them a call.
Some saunas can be a bit seedy others really classy.
There's no pressure to play and I find if you want play just speak up or make a tentative move. If he's not interested he'll say. Although I'm yet to find a guy who says no  |

I be been to it and I'm flippin mile away too. It's worth the drive but park outside FMAOs house. I parked in the car park and some twat drove into my wing.  |
