i'll be so in this thread....
I'll be talking about the game but mostly mine will be "lions" chat looking towards the summer with lots of places up for grabs....
this years 6 nations should be good.... I think all the home nations will have good chances to win at least 3 games... yes, even scotland!!!!! lol
england will start favourites.... but i think it will come down to a england vs ireland last game grand slam decider....

in fact... i'll start with my "lions" XV pre 6 nations so far.... based on league, autumn international and european cup play....
up front.. lucky that dan cole can play both prop positions at a world class level... so i'll have W P Nell of scotland at 1 and Dan Cole of England switching over and playing 3....
at Hooker... Dylan hartley is still too much of a liability... so I'm starting Rory Best of Ireland
2nd row... some fantastic candidates... and with the back row is going to cause the most arguements... for me at the moment it would be Alun Wyn Jones of wales at 4 (and captain) and Maro Itoje of Endland at 5..... both of the gray boys of scotland are playing lights out and can consider themselves unlucky to the left out at the moment...
Back row.... probably THE hardest position at the moment... for me the 2 best players of the autumn internationals have to be Billy vinopola of England, who would play 8, and CJ Stander of Ireland, would would play 7..... so the question is who plays 6? any of the welsh back row of Justin Tiperic, Sam Warburton or Toby Falatau there and i would have no arguement.... or do you go with a steffon armitage playing at Toulon?
at 9.... probably the most open position... all 4 starting 9's in the championship will have a shot at going... Webb, Youngs, Murray and Russell...
at the moment because they give you better attacking options i would go Conor Murray and Finn Russell
at 10.... Johnny sexton goes, Owen Farrell goes......
in the centres.... struggling here a bit... so i think Robbie henshaw goes as 12, Joesph of england goes at 13.... if jamie roberts and Jonathan davies (the heros of the 3rd test in sydney) both dont go on the trip don't be surprised....
in the wings... lots of different options... Anthony Watson of England will go as one wing! who goes on the other.... george north? Simon Zebo? Tommy Bowe? Nick Abendanon (the missing englishman out at Clermont)?
at full back... Stuart Hogg of Scotland... Leigh Halfpenny of wales... Mike Brown of England....
the good thing in the backs is you have full backs that can play wing, and wingers who are big enough they can play centre if needed
thats a good start for people to talk about.....i think!!! |

Because it's the biggest city. Per head, there has to be more Rugby fans in Hawick than Glasgow. Borders rugby even has it's own wikipedia page. |

Sadly England are going to be very difficult to beat, Eddie Jones has taken England from a group of players in the World Cup and turned them into tight attacking team. |

How so ?
Do you not have itv ?
Most interesting that the bonus point system used for many years in all league competitions is to be tried out in six nations this year for the first time.
In 2002 France won the grand slam but the bonus point system would mean England won the title !
To stop this happening there will be a 3 point bonus for a team completing a grand slam, personally I think this system is a total waste of time.
Either have the standard bp system or don't, having bonus bonus points for winning every game is just shit !

i thing Itoje is special... question is he a better 2nd rower or does his future lie in the back row...
with the amount of class 2nd rowers and back rowers we have now... i think that is is going to be the biggest discussion.....
biggest open points... any of the 4 starting 9's could go... conor murray has a leg up for me....
any of the 4 starting 15's could go for me.... stuart hogg i think leads the queue but i am a huge fan of all of them (brown, hogg, halfpenny and rob kearney)
be interesting to see how the head interpretion laws are carried out today... i think we will see more yellow cards......
I am glad they are finally going to do something about clearing out at rucks... the way the southern hemisphere teams did it use to wind me up....
As an american mr._abio how would you compete rugby to american football? In the physical contanct sense"

use to play both at uni... rugby on a wednesday, american football on a sunday..... so use to have a target on my back in the nicest sense...
with the focus on concussion so much in both games, they are trying to teach anerican football players to tackle more like rugby players now.....
both hurt!!!!.... lol |

As usual? Didn't they storm their recent tour and are unbeaten under Eddie Jones?! Or am I thinking of a different England? |

when i was based in germany back in the day , we used to play a yank unit down the road at their game with all their body armour and helmets ( we had to borrow it off them ) and they would play us at rugby , the good old style rugby when you could rake the living fuck out of a lad who got caught on the wrong side of a breakdown , always found yank football boring and they were never very keen on getting mixed up in the hard yards without all their protection |

O flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
The hills are bare now
And autumn leaves lie thick and still
O'er land that is lost now
Which those so dearly held
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
Those days are passed now
And in the past they must remain
But we can still rise now
And be the nation again
That stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again
