I've just started This is London by Ben Judah - it's reportage, he describes the way various recent migrants experience the city differently, what brought them there, their hopes, frustrations, fears, disappointments. So far, it's eye opening, fascinating and sometimes extremely sad. It's an aspect of London many of us are only vaguely aware of and probably don't apply too much thought to usually.
And I'm dipping into The Railways: Nation, Network and People by Simon Bradley, haven't read it properly yet but it seems to be the sort of social history I love. |

"Just finished orphan X, which was ok, and debating whether to start the Jack Reacher books or Game of Thrones books......"
Jack Reacher is great. You will just wonder why Tom Cruise was cast to play Reacher.
I am reading Jens Voight's book. |

"I'm a great book lover, and always have been. I love many genres.
But over the last few months, maybe even a year, I've struggled to find the pleasure. It's as if I have lost my book-mojo "
I've lost my mojo too, anyone seen it? |
