If you don't know who Hanne Gaby Odiele is, she's made a big statement today.
A convo I had earlier with some utter nutcase kind of pissed me off (which is rare):
HIM: She's not really a she though is she?
ME: Why not?
HIM: Well she's not is she?
ME: She is
HIM: He should be honest
ME: You're an asshole
**Female friend stood next to me** Hits me on the arm screeching "Ben!!"
Before she yelled at me, she should have considered my reason for calling him an "asshole".
He's an asshole because it's the most basic right of any individual to be called by the name they want to be called or addressed how they want to be addressed.
BUT...
If some idiot insists on calling that person some other name or addressing them in some way that differs from what THAT PERSON ACTUALLY WANTS, no matter WHY or WHAT your reason is, what you're really saying is "I'm in charge of who you are."

Side note..Definition from Google:

Not sure why you felt the need to post this.
I agree with your sentiment and spend much of my life fighting this battle..... just don't feel the need to post 'aren't i great?' threads about it. |

Intersex is usually where one is born with both genitalia and has the option to decide whether to be male or female, normally they decide based on what they decide they identify with. Some have operations to conform to it, others don't. Some also have their parents decide at a young age, like Lady C.
But you're right, no one has the right to tell someone what gender they are, there are also more than 2 gender types. |

Nicely done and I agree, i'm usually as equally rude and 'curt' with such people.
No more than they deserve and I will usually go out of my way not to converse with them in future.
To be fair I usually rant a bit too so well done for just keeping it short and sweet lol
