Bored in the car earlier and got thinking. In this day and age of mobiles and unlimited free minutes, does anybody bother to use their home land line anymore |

Yup, all the time.
Possibly because I don't have a mobile though. |

"I do, free to call over 120 countries, so when I'm bored, I'll dial a number and see where it leads...
Call me "
I'll dial a number and if I get you, it's destiny.
be ready. |

Only reason I have the landline is because of the broadband deal, never use it and never answer it if it rings would only be a sales call anyways.
Anyone who knows me would use the mobile number |

Good question. Although i don't have a home phone. Just last week, i turned off my data and wifi on my mobile. So all i can do with it is make and recieve calls and sms. I have a home computer and so any time i need to do anything online, i use my home pc. It has been very refreshing, not having whatsapp, fb, messenger, emails pinging on my phone all day. I might even start leaving it at home from now on, then call people back when i'm home. I also unsubscribed from a clatter of regular emails. So my emails have even ground to a halt. Detoxing from technology is great. The time we waste on them is crazy. It's only when we do something like this, that we realise just how much we use them. |

A man after my own heart! I am sick of mobiles bipping and blooping every 30 seconds and the fact that, like Pavlov's dogs, everyone rushes to check their phones. Then they spend 10 mins answering the inane drivel that someone else has to answer. I do use modern technology, but I don't let it rule my life. My phone often languishes at home whilst I am off doing something else. My home phone is used infrequently, not often by sales people, (I think I scared them off) but mostly by my son trying to reach me when I have left my mobile somewhere, switched it off or let the battery die! |

I've never had a landline. My parents had one, but I moved out ages ago and in all the places I've lived I've never had a home telephone. I use my cell phone for everything. |

I've got a landline, but like most above posters it's only there for the broadband. No phone connected.
However, I do have a bit of a hankering for a nice "proper" Bakelite phone to plug in and have on my hall stand. |

Still have one wouldn't be without it if mobile fails it's there as back up . If mobile fails do you have a back up of all your important numbers ? Good old fashioned pen and paper to keep details required .At the moment I can still remember my most important contacts . No doubt eventually I'll forget or they'll change . |

"Have a landline and prefer using it to the mobile. More comfortable and convenient and better rates, including internationally. "
That's fine but you will be paying for it in a monthly plan...whereas most just pay for thier broadband on a no call plan and use their monthly call plan on their mobile....saves paying twice and international calls are free on WhatsApp |
