Yes, it's a well-attested medical phenomenon that involved odd fringe benefits to pre-Raphaelite painters.

I get it. The only thing that helps me is the telly on in the background. I've had it for years. I used to be terrified to go to sleep. I only have it occasionally now though.

I'll send you a DVD of me just looking out from the TV. Stick it on repeat.

secret town

Mine started when I was 9yrs old

It starts with buzzing in my ears, then the room goes cold

I can hear footsteps coming up the stairs and see the door opening.

A figure in black and about 9 foot tall is walking towards me

I can't move or scream

He grabs my throat and starts to strangle me, i can't breathe

Then all of a sudden it stops

I'm awake when all this is going on

Only about 15yrs ago i found out it is Sleep Paralysis

Brighton - even Hove!

It's a natural thing. Just don't be scared of it and let it happen. See what happens next......and weirdly enough, try not to be scared of you think you can't breathe.

Dosent scare me anymore

All i do now is move my toes ( if i can, but not always ) that normally gets me out of my Paralysis or just ride it out

Sleep Paralysis only last 30 seconds to a minute but feels like hours

I feel tired all day after one of my episodes and light headed

It's like the old hag has sucked some of my energy out of me

its cos you left your energy body misaligned with your physical, there are ways of realigning but be better if you surrendered at the time of the paralysis and let them do it on their own x that way you dont end up exhausted withe the side effects..if you suffer alot i suggest your alarm goes off ten mins before you need with another one set at the right time..so if it happens you can drift off and know another is set..it rarely happens twice in the quick a succession x

Pleasuretown

It's horrible

I find that things trigger it, like extreme stress and ironically, lack of sleep

I find I can pull myself out of it though
