Ok I need inspiration for a film to stream. Preferably something recent so post your most recent films you have watched and I will pick something from the list. |

"Look for Chi-Raq, the most recent Spike Lee film. It's Lysistrata but set in Chicago.
"
Ach - it's so good! I directed Lysistrata at the Fringe a couple of years ago and am so happy with the film not being an utter pile of poo. |

"Whiplash. It's on Netflix and it's amazing!"
I saw that at the cinema on my own. I kept gasping so loudly that people were giving me hard Paddington stares. Brilliant film, though. J.K. Simmons is brilliant.

Another vote for the film nominated for 14 Oscars. There's a leak at the Academy, so you can stream it |

Lifeboat - Hitchcock 1944
Fuckin' A. Stars Tallulah Bankhead with William Bendix. Set entirely on a lifeboat launched from a sinking passenger vessel following a World War II naval attack. Terrifying, claustrophobic, philosophical dissection of human nature & WWII.
Check it out. |

Yeah, I came into it one night, doing the midnight feed with the baby and had no idea what was going on, only these Indians pulling a steamer up a mountain and people screaming at each other and threatening to kill one another in German.
I was hooked.

I do miss the BFI! But luckily we have a very nice Picturehouse cinema in Norwich in a lovely old building. It's become my second home. |
