I like where I live now, but have an urge to move nearer the coast. I've always liked Devon so that's top of the list.
France is my second choice. Down South as the weather is so much better over there and it's beautiful too. |

By the sea or at least an inland waterway, which is exactly where I am moving too soon, ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

I'm lucky enough to live on the north west coast of Wales. Sea on the one side, mountains on the other. It's a beautiful part of the country and one I'm always proud to call home ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Keema in Texas

Doubt we will ever escape Glasgow though "
Of those three, Berlin is the most interesting but it's a very ugly city and full of monuments to That Thing We Must Never Do Again.
Good nightlife. |

Cornwall for me. More specifically, the little yellow cottage on the quay in Mullion Cove. I love the Cornish coast, it's beautiful and a little wild. I may have over dosed on Daphne Du Maurier growing up. Last night I dreamed I went to Manderley ....... |

"Probably America.
I'd also like to live by the coast.
And I prefer cities than more rural places."
There's a lot of America.
Do you want a blue bit or a red part? Blisteringly hot or arse-rapingly cold?
Tbh quite a lot of it looks the same (architecturally, at any rate, but the scenery changes) unless you go to San Fran, N'Orlins or NY... places with a bit of history.
One of the weirdest landscapes I've driven through in the US was somewhere on Route 95 in southern Nevada. There's a military base in the middle of nowhere and then for mile after terrifying mile dozens of neatly spaced missile silos lining each side of the highway.
Strange place.
Go to Santa Cruz and watch the beach volley ball ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

"Caribbean."
Somewhere like disaster heaven Haiti, or a cartel controlled republic or one of those islands that rich fucks buy to keep out the riff raff?
Personally, I loved Belize. I know it's Central America but it's far more 'old' Caribbean than Amerindian. |

"Sydney, Singapore or on a Greek Island."
Sydney's ok, Singapore is extremely fetid and dull.
Depends on the Greek island, of course, but the last one I visited was Lemnos and that was most accommodating. |

"I love where I live (on the coast), but Belize was one of my favourite places.
I could see me retiring there, rum and sea-food till I died, perfect."
Belize - snap
I sometimes think, if it all goes tits up I'd go to Belize and build boats. The only downside is hurricane season and Belmopan is the weirdest capital city I'v ever visited. |

I've lived by the coast a lot and miss it so much, but work dictates for a while and currently inland but I regularly get my fix of sea air. So anywhere by the sea for me |

Id like to live somewhere remote and live off grid completely self sufficient.
Eco house and small holding. Living off the land etc.
Ideal for me would that. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

We visit Cornwall every couple of months and while I agree the the scenery is stunning it is not a place I could live.
My daughter is in Penryn and we have tried staying there , Truro and Falmouth.
During the day we have had some wonderful days out but come the evening I just want to escape.

We always have a few houses in New Zealand on our radar in case of that elusive small lottery win, currently watching a house 250ft from a nine mile beach with surf with a _iew of snow capped mountains behind it..

I wouldn't want to stay in one place.
Santorini
Aruba
Iceland
Rio
Mexico
Malaysia
Krakow
Ireland
For the first year.
Then I would camper van around the USA for a while, end up in Canada for 6 months then perhaps pop back. |

I absoloutely love where I live now. I'm in an AONB and it's beautiful countryside. If I had to move it would have to be to an English coastal place. No where commercialised though, more a quaint fishing village, complete with a long sandy beach. |

Myself I've never considered going anywhere with more than a thousand people living there... Hordes of people distract me from what I want to see and do.... It's fuckin' tedious and the resident Morlocks unwelcoming.
Pass.
It's the only place in Britain where I have been made to feel like an outsider. .

"There's a house in Brooklyn Heights that I've had my eye on since I was a child. It's right on the promenade and has a fucking sunroom! When I find 10 million bucks, I'm going to buy it .
I suggest we look behind your sofa... For the ten mill I mean "
I already checked. I found a US quarter and an old dog bone. I don't think that will tempt the owners. |

I'm think we wait for the guy to leave (that's exit to you) throw the 25 pence on the floor, wait for him to bend to look what's dropped... Then whack him over the head with the dog bone.
Then knock on the door and say... Your my wife now ![](/icons/s/twisted.gif) |

More bookshops per capita than any other country but no trees"

Quite like living where I do tbh! Lived here for over 40 years before I realised I was living in the middle of NW swingers central! I can get to at least a dozen swinging clubs/hotels within an hour's drive of my house! ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Ok, they have a 'few', stubby trees and I like big trees, so ner.
"Native tree species found in Icelandic forests are rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), which is uncommon, and the extremely rare aspen (Populus tremula) found naturally in only 6 locations, along with abundant tea-leaved willow (Salix phylicifolia), which is usually a shrub but occasionally reaches tree size." |

Up on them there hills |
Used to like living where we do, until the Tour de France came through, then the Tour de Yorkshire, the next Tour de Yorkshire comes past the damned house...
We have four "local" clubs per year.
Don't see why I should pay immisions tax when we can't use the cars because all the roads are blocked off for flipping bikes....
So thinking of moving to Portugal.

But I have never been to Japan" .
I'm not sure they could afford you to go.... Tokyo has already got problems with low oxygen levels sometimes it drops to as low as ten percent.... I'll look to see if theres a third world place that's got even lower levels to keep you happy![](/icons/s/wink.gif) |

It's beautiful where I live with Salisbury and Winchester to shop but if I could choose in the UK I'd move to West Cornwall or Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset. I've had great times there.
Abroad God I've travelled the world but if I had a choice, Portofino, Italy, St Kits and Nevis or may be Sweden or Norway as love there way of life. |

Somewhere that has a good summer, I miss the good long warm summers (warm enough for clothing removal more often, preferably near a warm sea for swimming too, don't mind the cold but keep it to winter.
