Would you skip work?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Today is that type of day. You know the one. it's an 8, maybe a nine.

I've got a busy week but could easily put off what needs doing today and do do it tomorrow.

How many have skipped work for a naughty rendezvous?

Who could blow off work today?

I wouldn't throw a sickie because it will be leaving my colleagues in the deep end. I've not done it before and won't start now.

On the other hand I'm almost at the end of my scheme so apart from a few placements, I mainly have reports and presentations to do and I can put those on hold quite successfully without detriment.

I've never thrown a sickie when I've not been sick. My Mum always said if you don't go to school, you can't go out in the evening and I wanted to go out at night.

I like my work ethic. There are days when I could happily stay in bed. I just don't cause it's not the right thing to do. That and I love my job... it helps.

As my job is quit autonomous, I can take an hour or two out of my day. Also I am usually in a hotel somewhere and can host there in the evenings.

So quit flexible.

I don't start till the afternoon anyway so I can't really have an excuse to bunk off. Although some days are a struggle to go in because of the weather (working outside). That being said I've always worked later in the day anyway.

"How many have skipped work for a naughty rendezvous?

Who could blow off work today? "

You are discussing my MO.

Aside from the fact that I work from home with minimal supervision (WEYHEYY!!) even when I worked in offices I'd slip off for a long lunch or have a 'meeting' on the other side of town today.

Really.

All those people who sit their complaining about "There's not enough time to do my job", whilst faffing about on Facebook or avoiding some sodding spreadsheet should really look at how more efficient they could be, thusly accumulating a fair amount of unnoticed free time.

Just remembered something awful from the vaults.

'Bout 10/11 years ago it was staff conference day, only I rang up my boss and made up some story about having to look after the child next door because the mum had some kind of family emergency.

Went to a PLUSH hotel in South Kensington and fucked this amazing guy.

Christ.

Then I went back to then end of the conference for the drinks and everyone said what a good neighbour I'd been.

No. that's pulling a sicky.

I'd have preferred to have had some fun than doing the job I had to do.

It's now done.

I still would have preferred to have been rolling around a floor with a sexy woman instead. I don't love my job enough to ever want to go to work, rather than enjoy a sexy encounter.

It's by far the best perk of my job. And it's great that it applies to everyone, so you have people who use it because of childcare or other caring responsibilities, people who have an easier commute because they've got a choice of when to travel, and people like me who just like a lie in and the occasional afternoon off to shag someone in a hotel
