I like her tunes, although they become a bit ubiquitous for a while whenever she releases something new.
Who really gives a shit though. It's comical when people are so vehemently against some celebrity they will never meet who has no effect whatsoever on their life. |

Well I like the girl, good luck to her. As for stretching words out in her songs then every singer who ever sang is guilty of that otherwise it wouldn't be a song, it would just be somebody talking to music. |

There's no doubt that she is an exceptional singer, she has an amazing voice.
I personally do not care for ballads so I would never buy an album or go to a concert. |

There's stretching out words though and there's making up new sounds for words. They are different. |

Yes, seriously,
I know how a professionally trained classical singer sings. Being that she didn't have classical voice coaching, she is a natural singer. Her voice has a number of excellent harmonics in it;
Compositions wise, her songs have excellent melodies and clever structures, with well constructed underlying themes to contrast them.
She mixes jazz, blues and classical elements;
Good use of major/ minor tensions. |

OP, if you can't stand her, then her ticket prices are irrelevant, aren't they? You wouldn't go if she did a free concert in your back garden.

I'm in the no camp.
I'm sure she has reasons for the tour etc, probably motivated by money but I don't see any issue with that.
However her music simply depresses me. It's pretty much all "woe is me, my ex is a dick, I love you, I hate you, we should be together, get away from me"
Doesn't help that when I pick my child up the ex has it on full volume every time. And I mean every time! |

I think she's great. She's very down to earth, hasn't succumbed to peer pressure to be skinny and false like so many other young women do, and she's an extremely talented singer.
I'm going to see her at Wembley. Can't wait. |

Quite right too.
And it proves that her popularity is genuine; if you want her music, ( some of the best selling albums ever) you need to make the effort to get it, not pirate it or steal it.
Good on her for standing up for herself in that. |

That's not how pirating copyright material works. It's not something anyone can opt out of.
I assume you mean she doesn't allow (legal) streaming or download sales via the likes of iTunes - neither of which is covered by the terms "filesharing" (per the poster I quoted) or "pirating ".
I suspect that her issue with iTunes et Al is the low royalty rate they offer. Which she's entitled to do, of course.
The people illegally copying /downloading her albums will be entirely unaffected, I assure you. |
