I contested the only one I've ever had, I thought it was a short stay space, I was dropping stuff at a charity shop, was a delivery only bay, but the sign had been knocked down so they shouldn't have given me a ticket, they put a new sign up, but I'd taken a time/date stamped pick of the broken post at the time. |

You have nothing to lose by stating your case as they cannot increase the fine so long as you get your appeal in on time.
Trouble is, the yellow peril hunt in packs now and take photos of offending vehicles so your chances of success are pretty low.
Let us know how you get on

In the wrong
How in the wrong were you? "
Parked on the wrong side I never understand the terminology used on the signs |

No after a certain time you are not aloud to park on the one side of the road |

"Got a parking ticket today to pay it or dispute it what do you guys and girls suggest"
Pay it.
You won't win.
I don't even bother disputing it when I know I'll lose and the fine is even bigger. |

I've never had a parking ticket myself but have successfully disputed 4 for my best mate, plus 2 unsuccessful appeals.
If you don't win you still have the 14 day period in which to pay the reduced fine afterwards.
If the signs are there and you either didn't see them or misinterpreted them you are unlikely to win. |

i've sucessfully dispute 4, for various reasons, including a mechanical issue with a car, a ticket photographed next to the parking pass for the carpark and one where it wasn't that clear what the restriction was- pulled them up on about 5 breaches of legislation with a little research. If you have the time and patience, theres a good chance you'll win |

Then why contest it?"
It's like people who know they are speeding when they get caught but look for the tiniest loophole to get out of it. Pisses me off lol |

Oh come on everyone knows that they were caught because the camera was totally unfairly positioned and they were driving perfectly safely |

Tell them it wasn't you, but a cloned vehicle, you were at such and such having a coffee... I've always got off this way as they won't normally put the effort in checking... |

If it's a ticket on the highway then pay up, if it's in a privately owned car park, eg, asdas car park, ignore every letter they send. Legally they can't touch you. I had a letter about it years ago, ignored the following let's and never heard a peep. Don't ignore it if it's from parking on the highway though. |

Pay up, they take photographs as evidence these days.
While we're on the subject i had to smile the other day when i saw that someone had drawn a penis in the dirt on the side of a traffic warden's car. |
