I don't want to hijack the other thread so I'm making a new one!

Last night I was a goddess in the kitchen and made tonight's dinner too (and some banana muffins)... I have chicken marinading in chilli, garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric and natural yoghurt. I'm going to cover it in breadcrumbs and bake it in the oven! I've literally been thinking about my tummy all day long!

Since I gave up my filthy habit I've been keeping myself busy cooking from scratch again, trying to eat a bit healthier and attempting to make new things. The Proper Tasty recipes are proving to be pretty good but I thought I'd see if you lot had any favourites you want to share...

That sounds lovely.

I've made a chicken curry with jacket potato tonight.

The sauce contains: Onion; garlic, ground coriander, ground cumin, paprika, curry powder, masala paste, tinned tomatoes and a squeeze of lemon.

I had Pad Thai Chicken with Zesty Sauce made by Fit Kitchen for lunch and it was bloody lovely.

If I can find a recipe for making something similar I'll be giving that a whirl very soon!

I've never made risotto before so I bought some last weekend... I'm going to do it this weekend. With chicken and lemon I think.

I have a ton of low-carb meal recipes. The current favourite is beef and beans and is quick.

Thin sliced beef, French beans, garlic and soy sauce.

Fry the beef and beans over a very hot heat until the beef is on the verge of black. Add garlic (don't do it at the start, burnt garlic is awful and it burns quickly) and a bit of soy sauce.

I eat it on its own but if I'm cooking for others, I serve it with cauliflower rice.

Why would you burn the beef? I like my beef rare... is that a personal choice or part of the recipe?

And tell me about cauliflower rice would you please... I've tried it as a mash but it was bloody awful!

It's part of the dish, the same as the small strips you get in a Chinese. If it were a steak, I know what you mean as I like mine to fight back!

Cauliflower mash is ok but you have to treat it completely differently to spuds.

Break up a cauli into a processor and blitz until rice small. Fry until it smells nutty and goes golden in parts. It's lush. You can add to it anything, just as you would with rice. If you don't fancy the prep, most supermarkets sell it ready prepped. It's a common staple in the low carb world so lots of recipes out there.

Excellent thanks for that!

I'll definitely give it another go... the mash was rank but it sounds doable as rice!

Try simply breaking it up into small bits and shallow frying, that's fab too.

Sainsbury's have started doing pre-prepared cougetti, squoodles (squash noodles" and squash sheets (for low card lasagne)

I use thin slices of courgette for lasagne.

Try turnip/swede dauphois, that really is good.

It's really is the best burger I've ever eaten!

All toppings are free loads to choose from.

And the chips ( salted not spicy) are not only huge (and that's just a little portion) they are just amazing!

Oven baked cauli is good too, instead of boiling the crap out of it.

Bit of olive oil, but if seasoning and bake it until golden
