I'm going to have another tattoo, and I know within 15 minutes of tattooing I will be thinking I can't handle the pain. But sometimes I speak to people and they say they enjoy it.
Is this true or am i a massive wimp? |

"They hurt hun I'm a wimp and have numbing cream lol xx "
Emla cream and painkillers and sweets and soft drinks.
I've got an 8 hour session booked in 3 weeks time! |

It doesn't hurt having it done but I certainly couldn't say I enjoy it. Afterwards though when its just new and bruised and swollen, that is sore and extremely uncomfortable. Then when the scab starts coming away, well, the itchiness is almost unbarable! Its maddening. Lol |

It does hurt but i found it hurt far less than i expected. Hubby found it hurt more than he expected !
Iv only had 3 small ones though. I do find them sore and bruised for a while after and it was hard to get comfortable in bed. Worth it though |

"Getting a new one soon and I'm already dreading the pain. I can zone out after so long but I don't know how people can enjoy it"
I think some people just say they enjoy the pain because they don't want to admit it hurt, some folks are odd like that |

Of course they hurt.
Where you get it done and how long you sit there for will greatly effect your body's reaction to it.
Up to around three hours I'm totally fine with it.
Over three hours and when it goes over boney parts I lose concentration and it really starts to hurt.

It all depends on where on your body you're having it done.
It's going to be more painful in areas where there is a higher density of nerve endings and tends to be less painful the more fleshy the part of the body is.

I've lost count how many I've got but they range from face to leg..
But the pain has always been bearable, everyone is different.
I've seen guys 3 times my size pass out with tattoos in the same place i have them.
You get used to it haha.
Or maybe I'm just weird
Adam. |

I hate it. I hate every moment of it.
I discovered something worse than getting tattooed on my last one. That is getting tattooed while on your period. Fuck me, that was horrendous. That was more painful than recovering from the car accident where I drove my convertible into a telegraph pole at 90mph. |

Lollipops. It's the only way I get through mine.
When my foot was done they had to rachet strap it to the chair because I was shaking so much. My others weren't soooo bad but still hurt! |

"Totally depends where. Could have fallen asleep with legs and shoulders but I was a total wimp up my spine"
I found my spine pretty easy actually. And my shoulder tips. Apparently they're supposed to hurt alot. |

Some are worse than others, but I think arms and legs etc are.. painless.
But some people say they hurt.
Depends on the individual

The dragon took 7 1/2 hours but in 3 sessions- I challenge you to find a good inker who doesn't need a break or two.
Celtic armband hurt the most, great tattooist but blimey the inner bicep is tender on third time around!

"I don't mind them at all..except for my eyebrows. That pain in was crazy!
Every other has been pretty easy.
Eve. X"
Oh my god yes. I had my eyebrows tattoo'd different to a regular tattoo gun but Jesus it's the worst or so I thought, had microblading, fuck I thought I was gonna faint from the pain. Serrated edges dipped in ink and dragged across your eyebrows!
Regular tattoos, some hurt a lot, others not so much, after a couple of hours you're just willing it to be done. My collar bone hurt quite a bit. |

"Never tried the cream. Does it work? Surely it just gets wiped off?"
Yeah it works put it in the area about 30-45 mins before the session and wrap it with cling film

Some is uncomfortable, depends on the area. Learn to relax by using yr breathing - yoga breathing online - will help no end.
I often take a book. Five hours is the most I've had in one sitting xx |

You're a massive wimp
I generally start to get a bit twitchy after a couple of hours. That's pretty much my limit. For now. |

It's not the pain of the tattoo that bothers me, yes they tingle but it's not pain as such. Helps that I get on great with my tattooist and we usually end up on Fab playing 'would you'?
However, the positioning of whichever body part I'm getting done does tend to hurt. Having my sleeve done my arm ends up in all sorts of weird positions and that starts to get crampy and painful. |

I don't enjoy the pain but can handle it knowing I will love the finished product.
I recently had my elbow done thinking it would be the worst pain ever but wasn't actually too bad inner elbow was a bitch tho. |

Literally everyone is different.
Tattoo on my inner bicep absolutely killed... Someone getting tattooed at the same time had her whole armpit tattooed, and she said it didn't hurt.
Two sleeves on my arms, lower half - no pain at all, yet my sister has a few small ones and can't stand the pain.
Inner bicep and calf tattoos hurt most for me haha |

Pain is relevant to each person, what may be agony for one is nothing to another. As such asking others does it hurt will just result in lots of answers.
To me it feels like an annoying cat pawing your arm. Not pain full, just annoying. |

It all depends where the tattoos getting done I fell asleep getting my arm and leg sleeves done but my ribs was a killer I had a 9 hour session to complete I was i agony ......sections of my back hurt some didn't ....I find thinking about sitting on a warm beach with the sun beaming down on my face takes the pain away with controlled breathing .... anyone who says it doesn't hurt haven't had there ribs tattooed |

Pain didn't bother me I e only got the one on my lowere back across my spine the tattooist was really shocked when I said it was my first for how well I sat as the doing can be highly sensitives due to all the extraneous nerve endings |
