You absolutely have. He needs specialist care and support that with all the love and best will in the world you just can't give him. Just keep him in your hearts, hang on to the Dad you love, and keep on caring about the man he is now. If he feels that from you, all will be well. |

I'm afraid only time will tell but yes I'm sure you will of done the rite thing. I remember the day my granny went into a pyc hospital to be assessed n then into care. It was horrible and both me and my mum felt so guilty but even though she only lasted another 18 months she was happy n very well cared for once we found the rite home for her. Don't be afraid to ask the home a million and one questions and go with your gut instinct. I hope everything works well for all of you. Xxx |

Yes you have. Mil is in a home for the same thing, she is moved everywhere by hoist, gets lots of social interaction, always fed, no fear of falls.
And for us its piece of mind. I think we'd like to look after them ourselves, we looked into it, but there are 1000's of reasons why it's difficult and not possible such as dignity, lack of training and the fact that although homes are incredibly expensive it's more financially viable than us providing her care.
You will all come to terms with it when the shock and guilt wear off xxx |
