I'm looking for help from people who use these
I have recently dropped 5 dress sizes and still have a couple of stone to go yet and as a result of this my belly has gone really saggy, on top of that i've had three sections so it really is fucked
I know everybody is going to tell me to do sit ups but believe me they are not working for me, i already do quite a lot a day and i can feel the muscle under the flabby belly toning up but its doing sod all for my skin, its just loose skin on toned muscle
Its really getting me down now because i feel ive just swapped one set of problems for another, i used to be ashamed of my body because i was fat, i've worked really hard to get this far but i still feel i cant show myself naked or wear nice clothes because of the loose skin and starting to wonder if i was better off before, at least my skin fit me
I've looked into surgery but they won't do it untill i reach a weight I'm happy with which makes sense i suppose and one option to fall back on when the time comes
But i've been looking at these electric ab toner things and wondered what they actually do? do they just tone muscle or do they help tone skin too?
I'd me very gratefull if anyone with any experience of using one could give me some advice on of they will help x |

I think what you have is excess skin from when you was bigger, a tummy tuck is the only way to get rid of it, your skin has been stretched further than it naturally should have gone so won't go back to a flat pack, save your money, lose the extra and get the surgery then, try not to look for the quick fix, well done on the weight loss so far though.

They don't really do anything.
Well they do something, but it's really minimal.
I'd invest in an ab roller, it's the only core exercise I do because its so comprehensive. |

the one I have is supposed to tone the muscle along with doing sit ups..
they are basically like a tens machine for the tummy but tbh they don't work too well for me, I got more toned from doing yoga.. |

I have one of those!!
It does absolutely nothing for skin. It only pulses the muscle underneath, so they aren't even good if there is a bit of fat overlaying the muscle. That's been our experience anyway.
Marc can't use it because he has a bit of chub over his muscle. I can use it on my abs (because I have very little fat on that part of my body) but I dont like the way it feels so I don't use it.
Waste of money |

They're like polish for a good paint job, Bruce Lee used to use them to help give the 6pack he already had extra definition in films and pics..
The above advice of continued weight loss to target and core exercise followed by maintaining weight target over the long term will give better results ...

I have the same problem, I was very big once but I know I'll never have a flat stomach cause of the excess skin I have. So the way I look now is the way I'm always going to look. |

They won't give you any kind of visual difference unless you already have visible abs
All they do is force the muscles to contract which works them yeah but it's not exactly resistance training which is what really works
Just carry on with your weight loss and work in some resistance training
Forget the gimmicks |

Sadly no , good diet , lots of water are the natural ways other than that skin reduction surgery I'm afraid
Ab exercises will have no effect upon the skin |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
Once the skin has stretched beyond the point of no return, it won't snap back. This is why slow, long term weight-loss is recommended, but even then I've seen some real bad cases.
An op is your only option. Don't waste your money. In the meantime, get some good body cream slapped on and drink lots of water so it retains some elasticity. |

If I were you OP the first thing I'd do is get my bodyfat measured
See where you are at. I think for women the visible ab mark is around 15'ish percent bodyfat
Get yourself down to those kind of levels and then see how things look |

i used one after my 3rd child and got down to a size 12 even with excess skin (which wasn't that bad). they seemed to be stronger in those days, about 16 years ago. the one i got a few years ago didn't feel like it's doing much so i binned it.
i think the skin never totally shrinks, but i've not got an 'apron' now, more of a normal after baby belly where you can see my pubis and that's not covered. it's in my pics if you want an idea of what it looks like. |
