Can any body tell me how to export photos from my photos have a iPad and I can't find how to do it

When you click on upload photo a box should come up asking if you want to take a photo or go to photo library. If you pick library it should go straight to the photos you have saved on your iPad...? I haven't uploaded any from my iPad but I'm guessing it's the same as iPhone.
