If the meds help though , isn't it worth taking them for a short while ?
Have you tried Mindfulness ? Not sure it will help but I've known it help some people. |

Look up Mindfulness A Practical Guide to Finding Peace In A Frantic World by Mark Williams. Mindfulness is about allowing yourself to just be, in the present. It works if you work it x |

"Citalopram is an anti depressant but it's quite widely used for anxiety"
Your GP should have supported a sliding scale withdrawal to avoid the negative symptoms. |

Mr dns here .i have been learning to cope with this for few couple years.at first i was put on mirtazapine to help calm my wild mind.but slowly came of them after counciling and a good suport network of freinds an loved ones. learning this i have found mindfullness to be a great tool. i listened to alot of ajahn brahm he got a you tube chanel too. but lots of the Buddhist monks play part in teaching some of therapists.mune used alot of the teachings as his preferd method to help.but gota find out what works for you.but learning to listen to your body is a great start .i got alot to thank mindfullness for.
Amazing what a breath can do.. |

Propanol is used for anxiety, exercise is also good for the body and mind. Exercise gives you something to concentrate on and releases endorphins-the body's natural source of feel good! Exercise is also free and good for you anyway! Just go for a run or cycle, If your like me and can't run far just run and then walk then run again and so on.
Try not to take things to heart, don't listen to the people who say just pull yourself together etc they are trying to help but don't understand.
Hope that helps and good luck! |

Ok try EMDR it worked for me I am 99% back to normal. But you may not get this on NHS. I get the odd day but the treatment has trained me to fight back. |

Same as me !!exactly the same situation. Don't just come off the tablets though. I've stopped taking my citalopram 3 weeks ago due to work and not being able to get to the doctors. It's knocked me right back! |

Anxiety is completely normal but to an acceptable amount. In the past it would get bad for me too. The only thing I have found that consistantly worked and was good for you is exercise. I developed a routine and stuck with it. In the beginning whenever I felt anxiety coming on I would do push-ups till it went away. There were days I would do 500 push-ups it was that bad. Slowly over time I added various other workouts and even joined a local gym. Exercising is excellent relaxation, preventing stress, boosting testosterone levels naturally and in turn replacing anxiety with confidence.
This is not a quick fix however, you need to take your time and figure out what routine works for you and stick with it.

I've been suffering with it for 16 Year and in that time I've had my medication changed 3 times, it's been upped so I'm now on 120mg of propananolol and 40mg of fluxetine each day. But for the past few months I just can't seem to get out of this dark patch I'm in and I don't want to up my medication anymore.I'm at that stage that I'm fed-up feeling like this so I understand where your coming from. |

Mind set is the key in my opinion ....the thinking triggers the anexiety.
So solution perhaps is to change the thinking .....
How we change the thinking is the next step..... to stop the STINKING THINKING.....
Happy to have a chat of you want |

I find it's not necessarily just the thinking but can also be the feelings also wether that's emotional or tactile etc that sets mine off
