Now i'm no stupid but i'm far from smart..
Has anyone else changed a sentence completely because they couldn't spell a word?
Ive been sat here for ages trying to spell the word conscience
i went from
conshunse
conshionce
concunse
etc etc... til i just caved in and asked google about Jimmy Cricket in Pinocchio
Still i've learnt one thing today |

Not really as I use Google as a spell check, My spelling is poor, Its a memory thing with me, If I don't use a particular word for x amount of time I forget how to spell it,
Luckily spelling doesn't affect my life/job |

i knew the word i wanted just truly had no clue on how to spell it.. my guesses were no where near the actual spelling.

My spelling isn't too bad but I suffer bouts of reverse word blindness where I think I've typed a letter or word I haven't actually written which can then end up altering my statement to the opposite meaning....
I guess I should proof read before clicking post..... |

funny you typing that because thats what i told myself soon as i saw how it was spelt. My daughter uses similar techniques eah week when she has a spelling test at school..

Yes! It's so cute to see them writing and saying 'O u lucky duck' as they do it
My brain seems to work well with these things - I made up a mnemonic once as a flippant thing but it helped a couple of people pass an exam. |

Love this, it happens to me with words when I speak sometimes, I mangle the word for a few attempts and then start over haha |

Sometimes I have one of those moments where your mind just goes blank or you doubt the spelling of a stupidly simple word or it just doesn't look right when you type/write it out then I'll usually use Google to double check it. |

Not personally, I'm a bit of a grammar and spelling nazi. I have the opposite problem that I have to change words as sometimes I'm writing a message or email and use complex words.
But having a daughter who's dyslexic I can appreciate how frustrated and difficult it can be. |

That happens to me but when talking not spelling, sometimes the word I was about to say just goes! |
