Nope its a dying trade unless you think of something creative.. I went to a great bikers bar in the states but not sure it would work over here...
However If I was with someone and they wanted to go into the trade then I would support them.. |

"
See I dont think it is.
I dont have a problem with going into the pub on my own.
If I want a drink, and want to go to the pub, then I will go. |

After iv been "clothes" shopping - i often meet hubby in the shopping center pub - or "weatherspoons" if you can call it a pub - and dont class it as a community center or a venue for a cheap lunch lol x |

I often go on my own, to watch the footy or just have a pint. I've worked away from home quite a lot so going to a pub on my own is nothing new to me. I quite like not knowing who'll I'll end up talking to, but I usually do end up chatting to someone or another. |

yes i have, i love any alone time. Before my night class i got into the habit of treating myself to a pub meal,it was fab to sit, eat, read and watch the world go by.
What i have never done is gone to a pub alone to pull, Sir has warned me it can be a less than wonderful experience, but i think its on my bucket list. |

It has nothing to do with confidence for me but the state of todays pubs. some are horrible places.
And not at all female friendly , specialy with all the young drinkers that cant hold their ale . |

I rarely go to the pub these days. I dont count local as you know everyone will be in there. But if ive been in a strange town or waiting for bus or train ive often done it but it was never to pull, but within a few minutes someone is talking to you |

I totslly agree....life would be so boring if you had to sit around and wait for someone to go with....
I work away from home a lot as well....and most of my colleagues have room service!! Why would I want to sleep in a room when I can still smell what I had for dinner?
Pub/Cinema/Restuarant/Bar.....no problems!

I go to pubs/restuarants on my own all the time. Read a newspaper or a book, have a nice relaxing time.
In my own area, I know which pubs to avoid (not because of the youngsters, incidentally, but because of the d*unken middle-aged men, who seem to think that if i'm on my own, I must be desparate for a shag!) However, when I'm in a strange town, I'll go in any pub that looks reasonable from the outside. |

Yes, I do nearly every night, but I know loads of people were I go, so I am not exactly on my own.
I would imagine it's different for a lady on her own, with all the punters bogging her all the time! |

Newcastle and Gateshead |
absolutely.. i am lucky that newcastle is one of those places where you can go out on your own to a pub and people will talk to you...
i couldn't imagine that happening in london so much....
I think it is very much a "nothern hospitality" thing... its one of the reasons i love living up here.... |
