Why is there hysteria that it might get a bit nippy for two days with a few snow flurries'? My sister lives in Iowa and last night it got down to -12! Now that's winter |

I have friends who have a B&B business in a ski resort area in Vermont where for the past month the day time temperature failed to go above -10, and at night, dropped to as low as -25.
Plus over there, if you have your business on a main highway, you are compelled by state law to clear the road of snow for 100 yards either side of where your property drive meets the road.
The state provides little Bob Cat mini diggers and fuel to do the job as snow can drift up to 8' high.
So, think you are hard done by in the UK when the white stuff falls? |
