It'd be good to get few lesser known albums into the list.
Joni Mitchell is obviously see-known, but the 1976 album Hejira isn't. Beautiful songs about travel and lost love. The lyrics are just brilliant all the way through.
So many great, hard-hitting soul albums in the 70s too:
Curtis Mayfield - Curtis
Gil Scott Herron - Winter in America
Margin Gaye - What's Going On
Etc |

" Equinoxe. Jean Michel Jarre. Still stunning."
Not my cup of tea, but a great shout!
I shall therefore proffer another long forgotten instrumental album of seventies origin and whisper " Tubular Bells" whilst blushing at my own embarrassment |

"As an unlos has mentioned Paranoid by Black Sabbath I will raise him a Sabotage "
I'm gonna throw the guilty pleasure of a compilation album into this eclectic mix of 70's nostalgia and offer 24 Carat Purple as a worthwhile listen... |

"The wombles
You should delete your profile RIGHT NOW "
What! You dont think that such fine lyrics as:
Underground overground Wombling free,
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we
Making good use of the things that we find
The things that the everyday folk leave behind.
Are worthy of adding to the list?

Pamered Menial by Pavlov's Dog
Not an all time classic, in fact not many people have heard their work, but it's a good album. My favorite track is "Songdance". David Surkamp sounds vocaly very similar to Geddy Lee of Rush.
This track used to get loads of airtime on rock stations and in rock clubs in late 70's.
I recently found it on cd on ebay |
