Ms Valient (sorry for name dropping) is an example of a real attractive woman. (Welsh. Again. )
Men -, name drop that English woman you think has that smile that makes you want to snog their face.
Woman, you can join in but can't nominate yourself. |

"I couldn't nominate only one tbh, there are a lot of women on here I'd like to snog.
I do agree with you Mrs Vaillant is very attractive "
Im not asking for a nomination. It's not for an award.
Just say one. I dare you! |

There are a few women in the forums with beautiful faces, but I won't name them.
I wonder what the American equivalent of an English rose is, though? Since there are so few Americans on the forum I figure I can cut out the competition by formulating the question more narrowly |

YES. I know. I should just have kept my mouth shut.
Obviously men can't compliment a woman's looks.
Sorry if I don't name the other 100 + women on the forum I think are fit. I just plucked the last lady I noticed as an example.

It's fine, OP. I think people just anticipate the thread going badly because similar ones have in the past. You're happy, the woman you complimented is happy. Keep it a happy thread.
She does have a lovely face, by the way. |

Ha! That's what I've taken it to mean too when I have been told this in the past. Although at the same time I did have a man tell me "you can't be an English Rose as you have freckles". Apparently to be an English Rose you have to have flawless skin. Who knew? |

No they don't. Dark haired can have that 'thing' about them too.
It doesn't work for Welsh woman anyway so the discripve doesn't work there.

Yes, they do. There's more of a Celtic look which can be fair skinned and dark haired, (think the Corrs) which can be found in wales too. It's a different kind of pale skin, different undertones - I have it myself. I'm in no way saying that one is more attractive than the other - just that you're inaccurate. And my descriptor works. |

I can't do this game and it's not fair. I'm a mixed mess."
Of course you can. You're Meli. No one else like you. You set the standard of Meliness |

"I'd
meant the 'English rose' descriptive didn't work for MsV.
I just hit keys when I talk. Kind of like my opening of this thread.
So you started a thread called "English rose" about someone you don't think looks like an English rose and isn't English? Okay...
No.
i started a thread called English rose
asking for people's opinions on who they've seen on Fab that fits that discription.
I started with a fab member as an example , but woah is me, she's Welsh.
Everyone seems to be hung up thinking my thread was about MsV. It was not.
Ok. I'm still confused though, because she's not an example of an English rose
Simply put.
I saw an attractive woman. Made me think what the English equivalent should be on here.
Make sense?
Ummm... An English attractive woman would be my guess
I'll look out for her. Thanks for the heads up. "
Happy to oblige OP |

"I'm too dark to be an English Rose..."
Just googled it. Hair colour doesn't play a part in tue definition of an English rose.. It's classed as an attractive English girl with a fair complexion and delicate features . |

I might have a fair complexion but I'm unsure about the delicate features |

"There are a few women in the forums with beautiful faces, but I won't name them.
I wonder what the American equivalent of an English rose is, though? Since there are so few Americans on the forum I figure I can cut out the competition by formulating the question more narrowly
American (stargazer) Lilly. xxx
I like this. Better than the OP's suggestion of the giant cactus. Makes us Americans sound prickly! "
Ive got a beautiful bunch of white lily's in my hallway complete with dripping stemems. xxx |

Hollywood Rose n LA guns were both good bands but I prefer what came next. xxx |

"My image of an English Rose is light brown to dark blond hair, pale but rosie skin, blue or green eyes, nice smile. Very blonde hair is more Scandinavian I feel. I used to get referred to as an English when I had brown hair. Not since I started going blonde though. I wonder if English Rose stems from Tudor Rose, which I think Elisabeth 1st was known as. But she was strawberry blonde I think."
That's what I think of, rather than very dark which is more Celtic. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I'm a potato, just not as pretty as its flower.
Back in the more openly racist days of the 80s, I was informed by a recruitment agency that they would never be able to place me as their clients only wanted English Roses and I just would not do.

If it's any consolation, its one of the nightshade family and its flower and the resulting tomamtoesque fruit are very poisonous. |

"Please explain to me what a English Rose is ?
Botanically? I'll leave it for someone else.
Im reference to this thread (which appears to be against the accepted norm)
english rose- an atractive English woman. In your own opinion.
I'll make it easy for you. Name a celeb.
"
She should be a daffodil though not a rose |

I'm a bit of a UK mongrel. Bit Welsh, bit Irish, born in England by a few miles. Fair skin, the occasional freckle, watery blue eyes, super dark brown hair. Never fitted any of the types in fashion and makeup pages when I was younger but there are loads of people with my particular colouring round by me and into Wales. I reckon we're more like wildflowers, roses seem delicate and elegant. Wildflowers grow all over but they can be pretty if you stop and look at them. |
